Dirty affairs of Uzbek diplomats – CentrAsia tells Kamilov's story

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is a "boiler" of dark affairs and corruption, online agency CentrAsia writes in its latest review. One can get a job in the ministry only for money or on protection. Modest people worked there only in the first years under minister Sadik Safayev. When he was replaced by Abdulaziz Kamilov it was ties and relationships instead of brains that became necessary. He had his informers in all the embassies; he used the state security committee to get rid of unweanted persons.
Kamilov is very much afraid of his competitors, has cleaned both all sane diplomats and those who have known about his abusings, CentrAsia writes. Kamilov, the current Uzbek ambassador to the US, dreams to become the country’s President and legislates for Russian support. He has good relations with Yevgeny Primakov, Sergei Ivanov and others, online agency alleges.
There was a certain Alla Karimova, deputy head of political analysis department and all knew in the ministry that she a security agency person, CentrAsia expands. Kamilov used the malicious arrogant woman as his informer. Karimova has written anonymous denunciations about a few dozens of diplomats, all of them were dismissed. Alla’s brother served with the KGB in Egypt, he suddenly died recently.
Kamilov’s younger brother Bakhtiyar presented interests of the security agency and its boss Gafur Rakhmonov in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Even the SBN knows that in a trade centre of Uzbekistan in Switzerland he had organized a brothel. Agents of the Uzbek security services revealed his monkey buisness and he was dismissed, CentrAsia adds.
When Kamilov left the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was the first who begun to distribute gossips about alleged intimate relations between Gulnara Karimova, Foreign Ministry official and the President’s daughter, and Sadik Safayev. The SNB and Russian FSB also joined the grape-vine. According to CentrAsia, these services fond it more favourable if Kamilov remained the minister. Some sources say that Russian secret services would like to see Kamilov to become President Islam Karimov’s succesor. Putin, too, has specified that it would be good to work with such a president, CentrAsia writes.
