Great importance is given to conducting individual conversations with patients with tuberculosis, especially with patients who are at risk of interrupting treatment.

Initially, an individual conversation with a patient is required to be carried out by the district TB specialist, then, when hospitalized in the hospital, the medical staff of the department is in the following sequence: day nurse, senior nurse, attending physician when registering the Case History and head of the department.
When conducting an individual conversation, the patient is obliged to inform him of what is tuberculosis, about the ways of its transmission, the prescribed chemotherapy drugs and the general treatment time.

The fact of the conversation must be properly documented, both by the medical staff and by the patient.
Immediately stipulate the possible place of outpatient treatment of the patient, the approximate duration of hospitalization and the general course of treatment.
A typical plan of a nurse's conversation with a patient who is in the hospital department has been developed, taking into account the specifics of the department (surgical, department of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, children's department, etc.).
After the conversation, the nurse gives the patient a booklet - “How should I be treated for tuberculosis”
If the patient after all of the above still violates the mode of separation. abuses alcohol, systematically refuses to accept chemotherapy, then his data are entered into the documents of the “risk group on treatment interruption”, and on this basis, he begins with the “daily” work on the prevention of treatment interruption.

Sanitary and educational work is actively carried out to promote the fight against tuberculosis among the population.
All-Russian poster competitions on this topic are held annually.
