Все мы родом из Космоса, только не все cохраняем свои белоснежные крылья.
Книга Александры Крючковой «Рождество на Кузнецком мосту» представляет собой сборник рассказов, на первый взгляд, судя по названиям, православных. Безусловно, данные истории так или иначе имеют свои корни в православном детстве автора, а также связаны с воспоминаниями о её уединении в монастырях и пронизаны любовью к греческому Афону, на границе с которым Александра Крючкова провела много лет уже в зрелом возрасте. Но не спешите с выводами, читатель!
Произведения писателей-мистиков выходят за рамки общепринятых стереотипов. В целом, соглашусь с закономерной победой автора в номинации имени Н. В. Гоголя конкурса «Писатели XXI века» (МГО СП России, «Литературная Республика», 2022), хотя, казалось бы, почти «гоголевское» название «Рождество на Кузнецком мосту» имеет меньшее отношение к уважаемому мной Николаю Васильевичу («Ночь перед Рождеством», «Вечера на хуторе близ Диканьки»), чем включённые в книгу рассказы «Грешница» и «Иконописец».
Всё начинается с очаровательного кота Барсика, а также ангела и чёрта, появляющихся почти одновременно в реанимации во время клинической смерти главной героини — рассказ «Бог, Барсик и борщи», и тут же автор озадачивает читателя вопросом о его предназначении, как бы спрашивая: а вы пришли на Землю зачем?
«Возможно, служение Барсику и есть моя задача на Земле? Не Барсик ли — причина того, что я до сих пор жива? А может… служение Барсикам? Интересно, сколько котов я могла бы спасти за свою жизнь, а спасла всего одного…»
«А у меня внуков четверо! Пропадут без меня-то! Кто им борщи варить будет?»
« — Я? Монахиня?! — Людмила сжалась при одной лишь мысли об этом. — Ты хочешь сказать, что мне не суждено встретить земную любовь?»
Запомните вопрос про земную любовь и уход в монастырь, поскольку заключительный рассказ «Пора в отпуск на Афон» фактически является на него ответом, но автор умело проводит читателя в Небо по Лестнице, не перепрыгивая через ступени, потому что:
« — У каждой души — свои задачи на Земле. Не выполнив их, продолжить путь в Небе не получится.»
После прочтения «Барсика» читатель подсознательно готов к развитию линии романтизированного автором монашества, однако следом — в рассказе «Грешница» — образ попа-пьяницы мгновенно разрушает иллюзию святости и напоминает персонажей рассказов Н. В. Гоголя. Так, в самую строгую неделю пасхального поста:
«Позавтракав яичницей и прихватив с собой пару бутербродов с сыром и колбасой, чуть не позабыв Евангелие и крест, приходской священник Алексий Прошкин не спеша отправился исповедать некую прихожанку Пелагею, умирающую от тяжёлой болезни. <…> Рассказанное умирающей до этого момента не особо интересовало батюшку, он даже чуть-чуть всхрапнул…»
В истории о блудном батюшке, в итоге так и не отпустившем грехи матери своего сына, которую он сам же бросил на произвол судьбы, Александра Крючкова буквально переворачивает всё с ног на голову, меняет шаблонные представления читателя о греховности и святости:
« — Но вскоре, когда я сказала, что у нас будет ребёнок, он запретил мне рожать нашего сына…
— Сына? — батюшка нахмурил брови и затеребил Евангелие.
— Да, Слава Богу, не приняла хоть этот грех на душу! Мы ведь так и не поженились — испугался мой жених, променял меня на дочь богатого и влиятельного чиновника. А сын мой внешне — копия своего отца, и я назвала его Алёшей.
<…> В тот же вечер Алексий оставил рясу дома и отправился с друзьями в кабак. Сильно напившись, на следующее утро батюшка прогулял службу и всю Страстную Неделю провёл с друзьями, вспоминая Страданья Христа, не расставаясь с бутылкой.»
Ситуация, описанная автором как бы со стороны, без личностных комментариев, блестяще доводится до едкого финала:
«На Пасху, <…> прихватив с собой церковного вина, Алексий отправился на могилу новопреставленной и столкнулся у кладбищенских ворот с красивым юношей. Батюшка узнал в нём сына, но сын не узнал бы в нём отца — тот слишком плохо выглядел…»
Дерзко? Согласен, но каждый из нас помнит с детства: «в семье не без урода», и теперь читатель подсознательно доверяет автору — писательница смотрит правде в глаза, какой бы горькой та ни была, а значит, всё, что она рассказывает — правда.
В грамотно подобранный момент дверь в Иную Реальность приоткрывается замысловатой историей с незамысловатым названием «Бабушка», главная героиня которого принимает решение: «Умереть в Париже, городе Любви, из-за её ненахождения — чем не сюжет для романа?» Бабушка автора действительно жила в Париже и была католичкой, в рассказе она заботливо и, что немаловажно, заблаговременно проводит горе-внучку в Иную Реальность на встречу к падре, в очередь к которому уже выстроились неприкаянные висельники:
« — Сжальтесь надо мной! На Библии клянусь: я совершил массу добрых дел за 200 лет!
Падре кивнул, перекрестив его шею, и висельник тут же исчез. А я бросила очередной взгляд на обратный отсчёт своего земного времени — оставалось 7 дней. Да-да, как я и планировала. Но провести на Том Свете 200 лет, подобно висельнику, — совершенно не входило в мои планы!
— Но что же я смогу сделать здесь, в Париже? В чужом мне городе, когда я даже не знаю французского!!! Как совершить столько добрых дел, чтобы…?»
Сколько добрых дел стоит одна грешная мысль? И что бы сделали вы за 7 дней, чтобы стереть её в скрижалях, даже ещё не совершив греха? Александра Крючкова в своих произведениях предоставляет читателю возможность побыть в шкуре главного героя в экстремальной ситуации, чтобы принять для себя единственно верное решение — найти выход из тьмы к свету. Интересный приём: бабушка не произносит в течение всего повествования ни слова — обет молчания! — усиливая интригу сюжета. Это впечатляющий рассказ о силе добрых дел, вне зависимости от того, на кого или на что они направлены. К тому же творить добро можно и после перехода в Иную Реальность, и никогда не следует отчаиваться и сомневаться в неизбежной победе добра над злом!
Хочу отметить, что непредсказуемость — одна из отличительных черт творчества Александры Крючковой, при этом каждый рассказ имеет свою тональность и настроение, свой аромат Иной Реальности.
«Иконописец, или Квартирный вопрос» — очередная ирония судьбы! Несмотря на серьёзность вопроса, в данной истории, написанной от лица мужчины, автор демонстрирует отменное чувство юмора. Если святые грозят вам пальцем с икон, а забавные черти высовываются из стен смежной квартиры и просят рюмочку коньячка, не спешите вступать с ними в разговор, ведь не у каждого из вас есть таинственная монахиня, готовая молиться об их исчезновении.
«Из стены вылезла голова чумазого чёрта.
— Коньячку не найдётся? — поинтересовался он.
— А разве бесы пьют? — ошеломлённо спросил я.
— Нет, конечно! Нюхают! — чёрт расплылся в улыбке чеширского кота и, хихикнув, подмигнул: — Нас к земному тянет — праной не корми! По телу скучаем — потому в живых и вселяемся!
«Чёрти что!» — подумал я, не особо доверяя рогатому, но пригласил его на кухню и попросил рассказать, что здесь происходит, в обмен на бутылочку Реми Мартин.
— Что происходит? — усмехнулся чёрт. — Война, братан!
— За душу соседки? — переспросил я.
— Не, за все!..»
В этой истории тема ухода в монастырь проявляется уже в троекратном размере — две монахини и будущий монах-иконописец, судьба каждого из которых уникальна, ибо «неисповедимы пути Господни».
Рассказ «Певчие, или Воины Света», идущий следом, объясняет читателю тягу автора к монастырям: две девочки из церковного хора, исполняющие а капелла самому Патриарху Всея Руси Алексию II во время божественной литургии в главном соборе страны, задают друг другу совсем не детские вопросы, потому что им «уже не хватало уклончивых ответов священников», но находят диаметрально противоположные ответы.
« — Последнее время я всё о Боге думаю, задаю себе вопросы и не могу на них ответить… <…> Мне в церкви хорошо, спокойно. Но иногда кажется, что Бога нет, и после смерти тоже ничего нет…
— Брось! Я часто чувствую, как родители приходят ко мне в гости. Самих их не вижу, но знаю: они — вот здесь, совсем рядом. И во сне приходят! Жизнь не заканчивается похоронами! Просто никто не в состоянии вместить в себя даже одной Галактики, познать её устройство и замысел. Боже, какая же Великая Сила управляет Вселенной! Думаешь, мы рождаемся, чтобы умереть? Не верю! Представь: человек говорит с тобой, думает, рассуждает, и вдруг, через секунду, нет его больше — умер. Куда делось его мыслящее Я, сознание? Нет, Элла, я не хочу верить, что сознание угасает навсегда. Не может так быть, не всё исчезает вместе с физическим телом. Бог есть, как минимум потому, что я так чувствую.
— Но зачем Бог посылает людям беды? Зачем он забрал у тебя родителей?
— Откуда ты знаешь, кто посылает беды, и кто забрал моих родителей? — помрачнела Алла. — Может, это был Дьявол?
— Тогда получается, что Дьявол сильнее Бога, — вздохнула Элла.»
Крючкова в литературе — настоящий философ, она смело берёт читателя за руку и ведёт к кульминации борьбы добра со злом не где-нибудь, а в епархии самого Бога:
« — Я всё больше убеждаюсь, что Его нет. Сегодня, например, убили ни в чём не повинные гвоздики, и Бог даже не противился. А ведь это произошло в Его епархии, вернее, в Его собственном доме — в церкви!
— Церковь призывает к творению добра, к прощению и любви к ближнему, не на словах, а на деле. Бог — это всё хорошее и совершенное, собранное в единое целое. Стремление к Богу — это стремление стать лучше тебе самому, тогда автоматически к лучшему изменится и наш мир. Нет? Но люди видят соринки у всех, кроме себя… вера — это путеводная нить, а надежда — посох. Без посоха идти сложнее. А без веры в пути заблудиться легко.
— Красиво сказала, но… от правды жизни — далеко.»
Алла, отстаивающая в спорах с подругой торжество Сил Света, теряет не только подругу, досрочно ушедшую из жизни из-за домогательств отчима, но и обещанное ей место во взрослом хоре — его отдают безголосой дочери священника.
Поразительно, что автор не занимает ни одну из сторон в спорах главных героев, но финальная фраза в сцене, где все они, по разным причинам переместившиеся в иной мир, причислены к воинам Света, говорит о бескомпромиссной вере автора в торжество справедливости:
« — Привет, воины Света! Силы Тьмы не дремлют! Не расслабляемся, чтобы на Земле не говорили, что Дьявол сильнее Бога! Итак, на сегодня задания у нас следующие…»
«Рождество на Кузнецком мосту» очаровательно и местами юмористично, благодаря гротеску — автор будто жонглирует контрастными ёлочными шарами на фоне повтора декораций Кузнецкого моста и рефреном шагающего по нему Рождества. Воплощённые души не только не помнят своих договорённостей перед воплощением, но и напрочь отрицают существование Потустороннего мира.
« — Слушай, ну какие призраки, Алис? Нет там ничего. Есть только „здесь и сейчас“! Я столько литературы изучил по всем смежным направлениям! Ни Бога, ни Дьявола не обнаружил!»
Интересно, что тема ухода в монастырь воскресает здесь уже с неизбежностью и звучит набатом предпоследнего воплощения, несмотря на то, что «Рождество», возможно, является самым сексуальным рассказом автора, воспевающего Иную Реальность:
« — Боже, какая красота! И посмотри, посмотри — всё такое ПЛОТНОЕ!!! Не какая-то там визуализация или голограмма, как у нас!
Мы зашли в номер, Вася включил приглушенный свет, и мы, наконец-то, рухнули в широченную кровать… десять лет спустя. Кто бы мог подумать! <…> Секс после определённого возраста — это когда «все свои», нет ничего неизвестного и стеснительного и не требуется ставить рекордов для книги Гиннесса — вы принимаете друг друга такими, какие вы есть, и просто радуетесь тому, что все живы-здоровы и вместе здесь и сейчас, что можно не только понежиться, но и выговориться…
— Я уйду в монастырь и буду отмаливать таких, как ты! А потом мы встретимся, в Рождество на Кузнецком мосту, уже призраками! И тебе будет стыдно, что ты в нас же самих не верил!..»
Всё выше по ступеням Лестницы в Небо, всё ближе — развязка. «Храм, или Когда умирают феи» — сказка для взрослых о попытке феи переписать сценарий судьбы бизнесмена, которого представитель сил Тьмы уговаривает снести храм, чтобы построить казино. А вы знаете, когда умирают феи? Крючковой, на удивление, блестяще удаётся писать о земном бытие с точки зрения бытия небесного, будто сама она живёт в Иной Реальности или является той самой феей, отправленной в наш мир для борьбы с силами Тьмы.
Заключительный рассказ, «Пора в отпуск на Афон», самый таинственный, пронзительно-печальный и уже абсолютно не земной. Но именно в нём жажда земной любви зашкаливает, ведь впереди у главной героини — лишь уход в монастырь на Афон — как последнее воплощение всех тех, кому земная любовь уже не положена:
«Всё, что на Земле, предстаёт здесь в виде голограмм, но невозможно материализовать физическое тело, чтобы почувствовать друг друга…
Он делает вид, что сказка станет былью, а я делаю вид, что верю…
Внезапно я почувствовала себя столь одинокой! Вряд ли кто-то на Земле может себе представить, каково это — быть Воином Света! Тьма сгущалась…»
Впечатляет тот факт, что Крючковой удаётся в миниатюре (!) об «отпусках» и «командировках» на Землю в целесообразный и согласованный с Высшими Силами «фрагмент шахматной партии турнира в несколько тысячелетий» поведать об устройстве Вселенной, перевернуть шаблонное представление о человеческой жизни на 180 градусов и позволить читателю взглянуть на себя с такой высоты, где «не приживаются те, кто злится».
«„Отоспишься на Том Свете!“ — говорила мне бабушка, но была не права: выспаться можно лишь на Земле!»
Книги Александры Крючковой производят на меня магическое воздействие: обыденные диалоги фантастических персонажей приглаживают взбудораженное сознание, и ты проникаешь в ткань повествования, в её Иную Реальность, и становишься соучастником происходящего настолько, что, когда персонажи спокойно говорят тебе о невозможном, как о рядовом, обыденном факте, ты веришь в действительную возможность невозможного.
Вселенский охват автора и кинематографический стиль письма позволяет нам бродить по улочкам современного Парижа, но одновременно наблюдать за строительством Вавилонской башни и видеть развалины Карфагена, где древний оракул задумчиво разглядывает смартфон в своей руке, прекрасно понимая, что для чудесных предсказаний не требуется никакого технического средства.
Александра Крючкова — по-своему уникальный писатель, один из живых классиков современной литературы, чьи произведения напоминают молебны о ниспослании людям благодатного дождя и раскрытые над человеком (или даже человечеством?!) белоснежные крылья незримого ангела-хранителя.
Впрочем, масштаб многих талантливых и нестандартных писателей в толпе среднестатистической массы сочинителей попросту не замечают, а некоторые и не хотят замечать, ибо всё их окружающее, независимо от уровня одарённости — питательный криль издательских «китов». И всё же надежда на торжество справедливости умирает последней!

*****С. В. БЕРСЕНЕВ: «СЛУЖЕНИЕ ИНОЙ РЕАЛЬНОСТИ»*****
Путь Александры на Литературный Олимп был достаточно тернист, а тематика творчества задана самой судьбой — уже в детстве, после смерти родителей, Александра проявляла неподдельный интерес к потустороннему миру и религии.
После крещения в Православие в Храме «Нечаянной радости» в Марьиной Роще (1989), она училась в церковно-приходской школе Елоховского Богоявленского кафедрального Собора и пела на солее в детском хоре во времена служения Патриарха Всея Руси Алексия II. Храм Христа Спасителя построен ещё не был, большинство праздников Патриарх служил именно в Богоявленском Соборе, где часто общался с детьми из церковного хора.
Годы, проведённые в храме, внесли свою лепту в творчество Крючковой: книга стихов «Храм Сердца» с посвящением матери, Патриарху Алексию II и А. Блоку была передана автором в августе 2019 с дарственной надписью архимандриту Евлогию (Иванову) — настоятелю Русского монастыря Святого Пантелеимона на Афоне в Греции.
Тесная связь с православным детством и поздней сердечной любовью к греческому Афону отражена и в романе «Исповедь Призрака», центральную часть которого занимают афонские истории, рассказы местных жителей, жития Святых и чудеса их икон, записанные автором в ходе её поездок в деревушку Урануполи, расположенную на границе со Святой Горой. Обложкой первого издания романа, переданного автором на Афон, а также в краеведческий музей Урануполи и дом-музей местной поэтессы и писательницы Джойс Лок (персонаж романа), послужила икона «Лествица», написанная на Афоне по благословению специально для этой книги.
Книги Крючковой также находятся в библиотеках Русского Патриаршего Подворья Святителя Николая Чудотворца в Бари (Италия), Иверском мужском монастыре на Валдае, её стихи звучат в фильме «Русь Святая» Александра Кулямина.
Мистическая же окраска творчества вызвана не только глубоким изучением теософии и трудов Е. П. Блаватской, но и личным знакомством с победителем «Битвы экстрасенсов» на ТНТ Нонной Хидирян, и практическими занятиями на семинарах Р. А. Мансуровой, фильм о которой «Чудеса исцеления» транслировали на Первом канале ТВ РФ 01.09.2009. По мотивам фильма и путешествия с Р. А. Мансуровой на выездной практический семинар в Китай (2010), написан первый и основной роман серии «Игра в Иную Реальность» — «Книга Тайных Знаний», выдержавший более 10 переизданий в различных издательствах, общим тиражом свыше 10 000 экземпляров.
Александре свойственно сталкивать магию (в лице Сил Тьмы) с Православием (в лице Сил Света). В триллере «Остров Харона» действие происходит одновременно на двух островах — Амульяни, некогда находившемся во владении афонского монастыря Ватопед, и филиппинском острове колдунов Камотес. В романе «Ловушка для Мыслеформы» 40 уроков «волшебства» в Мире Мыслеформ, где живут главные герои, фактически заключаются в творении добра и проявлении любви в духе Православия. Название сборника рассказов «Сказки призраков» (переиздание книги «Верите ли вы в призраков?»), получившего положительную оценку критиков, сравнивших произведения Крючковой с Эдгаром По, говорит само за себя. Многие рецензенты отмечали в творчестве Крючковой присутствие нот Серебряного века. Так, в романе «Ангел-Хранитель», переданном в дар Елабужскому Государственному Музею-Заповеднику и Дому-музею М. И. Цветаевой в Москве, А. Блок, М. Цветаева и А. Ахматова являются ключевыми персонами в Библиотеке Вселенной.
В интервью с Евгением Степановым для журнала «Дети Ра» Александра не скрывает своих экспериментов со Временем и Пространством, на вопрос об автобиографичности прозы: «Алиса ходит босиком по битому стеклу и раскаленным углям, попадает в Храм Души, слушает Музыку Сфер, сливается с Небом, неужели эта книга основана на реальных событиях?» даёт однозначный ответ: «Ещё в детстве один человек сказал мне: „Никогда не пиши о том, через что ты не прошла сама“».
За серию книг «Игра в Иную Реальность», мистичную и пронзительно глубокую, Александра Крючкова награждена орденами «За вклад в литературу России XXI века» (МГО СП России, 2020) и «Служение Искусству» (НП «Литературная Республика», 2013).
Думаю, Александра действительно служит здесь, на Земле, своим творчеством — служит Иной Реальности.

«Christmas on Kuznetsky Bridge»
We all come from the Cosmos, but not all of us keep our snow-white wings. At first glance, judging by the titles, Alexandra Kryuchkova’s book «Christmas on Kuznetsky Bridge» is a collection of Orthodox stories. No doubt, these stories in one way or another have their roots in the author’s Orthodox childhood, and are also connected with the memories of her retreats to monasteries and full of her love for Greek Mount Athos, on the border of which Alexandra Kryuchkova spent many years already in her adulthood. But do not rush to conclusions, reader! The works of mystical writers go beyond the conventional stereotypes. In general, I agree with the author’s natural victory in N.V. Gogol nomination of the competition «Writers of the XXI century» (Moscow city organization of the Union of Writers of Russia and «Literary Republic», 2022), although, almost Gogol-like title «Christmas on Kuznetsky Bridge» seems to have less to do with respected Nikolai Vasilievich («The Night Before Christmas», «Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka») than «A Sinner» and «An Iconographer», included in the book as well.
It all starts with a charming cat Barsik, an angel and a devil, appearing almost simultaneously in the intensive care room during the clinical death of the main character — the story «God, Barsik and borscht», and immediately the author puzzles the readers with the question about their purpose, as if asking, why did you come to earth?
«Perhaps serving Barsik is my mission on Earth. Isn’t Barsik the reason I am still alive? Or maybe… serving the Barsiks? I wonder how many cats I could save during my life, while I saved only one…»
«I have four grandchildren, they will be lost without me here! Who will cook my borsch for them?»
«Me? A nun?!» Lyudmila cringed at the mere thought of it. «Are you saying that I am not destined to find earthly love?»
Remember the question about earthly love and leaving for a monastery, since the final story «It’s time for vacation on Athos» is actually the answer, but the author skillfully leads the reader to Heaven along the Stairs without jumping over the steps, because…
«Every soul has its own mission on Earth. If you don’t complete it, you won’t be able to continue your journey in Heaven.»
After «Barsik» the reader is subconsciously prepared for the development of the line of the monasticism romanticized by the author, but then — in the story «A Sinner» — the image of the priest-drunkard instantly destroys the illusion of holiness and resembles N. V. Gogol’s characters. Thus, in the strictest week of the Easter fast,
«After a small breakfast of scrambled eggs, taking with him a couple of cheese and sausage sandwiches, and only by chance remembering to take also the Gospel and the cross, the parish priest, Father Alexey, slowly went to confess a certain parishioner Pelageya, who was dying of a terminal illness… What the dying woman had told him up to that point was not of particular interest to the priest, he even snored a little…»
In the story of the prodigal father, who in the end never absolved the sins of his son’s mother, whom he had abandoned to the mercy of fate, Alexandra Kryuchkova literally turns everything upside down, changes the reader’s stereotyped ideas about sinfulness and holiness.
«...soon, when I told him we were going to have a baby, he forbade me to give birth to our son.»
«Son?» Father Alexey furrowed his brow and fiddled with the Gospel.
«Yes, thank God, I didn’t take at least that sin upon my soul! After all, we never got married. My groom got scared, exchanged me for the daughter of a rich and influential official. And my son outwardly is a copy of his father, and I named him Alexey as well.»
«<…> That same evening, Father Alexey left his cassock at home and went with friends to a pub. Having drunk heavily, the next morning he skipped the mass and spent the entire Holy Week with friends, remembering the Passion of Christ without parting with the bottle.»
The situation, described by the author as if from the outside, without personal comments, is brilliantly brought to a caustic conclusion.
«On Easter, <…> taking church wine with him, Father Alexey went to the grave of the newly departed and bumped into a handsome young man at the cemetery gate. The priest immediately recognized his son, but the son would have never recognized his father, since he looked too bad…»
Is it bold? I agree, but each of us remembers from childhood, there is a black sheep in the family, and now the reader subconsciously trusts the author — the writer looks the truth in the eye, no matter how bitter it may be, which means that everything she tells us is true.
At a well-chosen moment, the door to Another Reality opens slightly by an intricate story with the uncomplicated title «Grandma», the main character of which makes a decision, «to die in Paris, the city of Love, because of the lack of Love… why not a plot for a novel?» The author’s grandmother lived in Paris indeed and was a Catholic. In the story, she carefully and, what is important, in advance, takes her unfortunate granddaughter to Another Reality to meet the padre, to whom the restless hanged men have already lined up.
«Father! Have pity on me! I swear on the Bible, I’ve done a lot of good deeds in 200 years!»
The priest nodded, crossing the hanged man’s neck, and the man immediately disappeared. I took another look at the countdown of my earthly time, there were 7 days left. Yes, just like I had planned. However, to spend 200 years in the Other World, like the hanged man, was not in my plans at all!
«But what can I do here in Paris, a foreign city to me? I don’t even know French!!!… How can I do so many good deeds?»
How many good deeds is one sinful thought worth? And what would you do in 7 days to erase it in the tablets, even without committing a sin yet? Alexandra Kryuchkova in her works gives the reader the opportunity to walk in the shoes of the protagonist in an extreme situation in order to make the only true decision for themselves — to find a way out of the Darkness into the Light.
An interesting technique is the grandmother’s vow of silence, she doesn’t utter a word during the entire story, enhancing the intrigue of the plot. This is an impressive story about the power of good deeds, no matter who or what they are addressed to. Moreover, one can do good even after one’s transition to Another Reality, and one should never despair and doubt the inevitable victory of Good over Evil!
I’d like to note that unpredictability is one of the distinguishing features of Alexandra Kryuchkova’s works, and each story has its own tone and mood, its own flavor of Another Reality.
«An Iconographer, or the Housing Problem» is another irony of fate! Despite the seriousness of the issue, in this story, written on behalf of a man, the author shows an excellent sense of humor. If the saints shake their fingers to you from the icons, and funny devils peek out from the walls of the adjacent apartment asking for a glass of cognac, don’t rush to enter into conversations with them, because not everyone has a mysterious nun ready to pray for their disappearance.
«…A scruffy devil’s head popped out of the wall.
«Any cognac?» he asked me.
«Do demons drink?» I asked stunned.
«Of course not! They sniff!» the devil broke into a smile of the Cheshire cat and, giggling, winked. «We are drawn to Earth! Don’t feed us with prana! We miss physical bodies, that’s why we settle into still alive ones!»
«What the hell!» I thought, not really trusting the horned creature, but I invited him to the kitchen and asked to tell me what was going on there, in exchange for a bottle of Remy Martin.
«What’s going on?» the devil chuckled. «War, bro!»
«For the neighbor’s soul?» I wondered.
«No, for everyone’s!»
In this story, the theme of leaving for a monastery is already manifested in a threefold way, two nuns and a future monk-iconographer, each of which has a unique destiny, for «the ways of the Lord are inscrutable».
The following story «The Singers, or Warriors of Light» explains to the reader the author’s craving for monasteries: two girls from the church choir, performing a cappella to the Patriarch of All Russia Alexey II during the divine liturgy in the main cathedral of the country, ask each other absolutely not childish questions, because «the priests’ evasive answers were no longer enough», but they find diametrically opposite answers.
«You know, lately I’ve been thinking about God, asking myself questions and… I can’t find answers. <…> I feel good in church, my soul is calm there. But sometimes it seems to me that there is no God, and there is nothing after death either…»
«Come on! I often feel my parents come to visit me. I don’t see them, but I know that they are right here, very close. And they come to me in dreams also! Life doesn’t end with a funeral! It’s just that no one is able to contain even one Galaxy, to know its structure and design. What a Great Power rules the Universe! Do you think we are born to die? Unbelievable! Imagine: a person is talking to you, thinking, reasoning, and suddenly, in a second, he is gone dead. Where did his thinking Self, his consciousness, go? No, Ella, I don’t want to believe that consciousness is fading forever. It can’t be so, not everything disappears with the physical body. God exists, at least because I feel that way.»
«Then why does God send troubles to people? Why did he take your parents away?»
«How do you know who sends troubles and who took my parents away?» Alla darkened. «Probably, it was the Devil!»
«Then it turns out that the Devil is stronger than God,» Ella sighed.
Kryuchkova is a true philosopher in literature, she boldly takes the reader by the hand and leads to the culmination of the struggle between Good and Evil not just anywhere, but in the diocese of God himself.
«I become more and more convinced that He doesn’t exist. Today, for example, innocent carnations were killed, and God didn’t even resist. By the way, that happened in His eparchy, or rather, in His own house, in church!»
«The church calls everyone to do good, forgive and love one’s neighbor, not in words, but in deeds. God is everything good and perfect, gathered into a single whole. Aspiring to God means to improve yourself, then our world will automatically change for the better. No? However, people see specks in everyone, except for themselves… Faith is the guiding thread, and hope is the staff. It’s more difficult to walk without the staff. And without faith, it’s easy to get lost on the way.»
«Beautiful words! But… they are far from the truth of life.»
Alla, who defends the triumph of the Forces of Light in the disputes with her friend, loses not only her friend, who dies prematurely due to her stepfather’s harassment, but also the place promised to her in the adult choir, since it’s given to the priest’s voiceless daughter.
It is amazing that the author takes no side in the disputes of the main characters, but the final phrase in the scene where all of them, for various reasons, moved to another world, are ranked among the warriors of Light, speaks of the author’s uncompromising faith in the triumph of justice.
«Hello, warriors of Light! The Dark Forces don’t sleep! Let’s not relax so that they don’t say on Earth that the Devil is stronger than God! So here are our tasks for today…»
«Christmas on Kuznetsky Bridge» is charming and sometimes humorous, thanks to the grotesque — the author seems to be juggling contrasting Christmas tree balls against the backdrop of the repeated scenery of the Kuznetsky Bridge and the refrain of Christmas walking along it. The incarnated souls not only remember nothing of their agreements before incarnation, but also completely deny the existence of the Other World.
«Listen, what else ghosts, Alice?» Vasya laughed. «There’s nothing, except for „here and now“! I studied much literature in all related areas! Neither God nor Devil found!»
It’s interesting that the theme of leaving for a monastery is resurrected here already with inevitability and sounds like the tocsin of the penultimate incarnation, despite the fact that «Christmas» is perhaps the most sexual story of the author who chants Another Reality.
«God, what a beauty! And just imagine! Everything has a solid body!!! Not a kind of visualization or hologram, like we do!»
We entered the room, Vasya turned on the dim light, and we finally collapsed into a wide bed… ten years later. Who would have thought it!
Sex after a certain age is like feeling that you are at home, there is nothing unknown and shy, and no need to set records for the Guinness Book, you accept each other for who you are, just enjoying the fact that everyone is alive and well, you both are together here and now, and you can not only be tender, but also speak out.
«I will go to a monastery and pray for people like you! And then we will meet at Christmas on Kuznetsky Bridge, already as ghosts! And you will be ashamed of yourself for not believing in us!»
Higher up the steps of the Stairway to Heaven, closer and closer comes the denouement. «The Temple, or When the Fairies Die» is a tale for adults about an attempt of a fairy to rewrite the fate of a businessman who is persuaded by a representative of the Dark Forces to demolish the temple in order to build a casino. Do you know when fairies die? Kryuchkova, surprisingly, brilliantly manages to write about earthly existence from the Heaven being’s point of view, as if she lives in Another Reality or is the very same fairy sent into our world to fight the Forces of Darkness.
The final story, «It’s time for vacation on Athos», is the most mysterious, piercingly sad and no longer earthly. However, it is in this story that the thirst for earthly love goes off scale, as the protagonist has only to go to a monastery on Mount Athos as the last incarnation of all those who are no longer entitled to earthly love!
«…Everything existing on Earth appear in Heaven in the form of holograms, but it’s impossible to materialize some physical body in order to feel each other…
He pretended that the fairy tale would come true, and I pretended to believe it.
Suddenly I felt so alone! Hardly anyone on Earth could imagine what it was like to be a Warrior of Light! The darkness was thickening.»
It’s impressive that Kryuchkova succeeds in a miniature (!) about «vacations» and «business trips» to Earth in an expedient and coordinated with the Higher Forces «fragment of a chess game of the several millennia tournament» to tell about the structure of the Universe, to turn 180 degrees the template view of human life and allow the reader to look at themselves from a height where «those who’re angry don’t take root».
«„You will sleep it off in the Other World!“ my grandma used to say, but she was wrong, since one could sleep it off on Earth only!»
The books by Alexandra Kryuchkova have a magical effect on me: the mundane dialogues of the fantastic characters smooth out the agitated consciousness, and you penetrate into the fabric of the narrative, into her Another Reality, and become an accomplice to what is happening so much that when the characters calmly tell you about the impossible, as if it were ordinary, in fact, you believe in the actual possibility of the impossible.
The universal scope of the author and the cinematic style of writing allows us to wander the streets of modern Paris, but at the same time observe the construction of the Tower of Babel and see the ruins of Carthage, where the ancient oracle thoughtfully examines a smartphone in his hand, knowing full well that no technical device is required for miraculous predictions.
Alexandra Kryuchkova is a unique writer in her own way, one of the living classics of modern literature, whose works are reminiscent of prayers for sending people blessed rain and of the snow-white wings of an invisible guardian angel, spread over a man (or even mankind?!).
However, the scale of many talented and non-standard writers is simply not noticed in the crowd of the average authors, and some people don’t want to notice, because everything around them, regardless of the level of giftedness, is the nutritious krill of publishing whales. And yet, the hope for the triumph of justice is the last to die!

******S. V. BERSENEV, «SERVING ANOTHER REALITY»******
Alexandra’s path to the Literary Olympus was quite thorny, and the theme of her future literary work was set by fate itself. Already in childhood, after the death of her parents, Alexandra showed a genuine interest in the Subtle World and religion. After being baptized at the Orthodox Church of Unexpected Joy in Maryina Roshcha (1989), she studied at the parochial school of the Epiphany Cathedral in Yelokhovo (Moscow), sang in the children church choir during the service of the Patriarch of All Russia Alexey the II-nd. The Cathedral of Christ the Savior hadn’t been built yet, most of the holidays the Patriarch served in the Epiphany Cathedral, where he often talked with children from the church choir.
The years spent in the church contributed to the literary work of Kryuchkova: the book of poems «The Temple of my Heart» with a dedication to her mother, Patriarch Alexey the II-nd and poet Alexander Blok was handed over by the author with a dedicatory inscription to Archimandrite Evlogy (Ivanov), head of the Russian Monastery of St. Panteleimon on Athos in Greece, in August 2019.
The close connection with Orthodox childhood and late heartfelt love for Greek Athos is also reflected in the novel «Confession of a Ghost», the central part of which is occupied by Athos stories, stories of local residents, the lives and miracles of the Saints and their icons, recorded by the author during her trips to the village of Ouranoupolis, located on the border with the Holy Mountain. The cover of the first edition of the novel, donated by the author to Athos, as well as to the local history museum of Ouranoupolis and the house-museum of the writer Joyce Mary NanKivell Loch (one of the main characters of the novel), was the icon «The Ladder», painted on Athos with the blessing especially for this book.
Kryuchkova’s books are also in the libraries of the Russian Patriarchal Metochion of St. Nicholas in Bari (Italy), the Iveron Valdai Monastery. Her poems are recited in the film «Holy Russia» by A. Kulyamin.
The mystical coloring of Alexandra’s literature is caused not only by a deep study of theosophy and the works of E. P. Blavatskaya, but also by a personal acquaintance with Nonna Khidiryan, the winner of the «Battle of extrasensory people» on TV channel TNT, as well as with R. A. Mansurova, a film about her and her practical seminars «Miracles of Healing» was broadcast on the First TV Channel of the Russian Federation on September 01, 2009. «The Book of Secret Knowledge», the first and the main novel of the «Playing Another Reality» series, is based on this film and on a spiritual trip with R. A. Mansurova in China in June 2010. The novel went through more than 10 reprints in various editor houses, with the total run over 10,000 copies.
Alexandra tends to collide magic, represented by the Forces of Darkness, with Orthodoxy, represented by the Forces of Light. In the thriller «The Island of Charon», the action takes place simultaneously on two islands: Ammouliani, which was once in the possession of the Athos monastery Vatoped, and Camotes, a Philippine island of magicians.
Forty lessons of magic in the novel «A Trap for a Thought-Form» are given by the author in the World of Thought-Forms, where the main characters live, and the lessons actually consist in doing Good and expressing Divine Love to people in the spirit of Orthodoxy.
The title of the collection of short stories «Tales of Ghosts» (a reprint of the book «Do you believe in ghosts?»), which received positive assessments from critics who compared the works of Kryuchkova with Edgar Allan Poe.
Many reviewers note the presence of the «Silver Age» tones in Kryuchkova’s work, and the author herself doesn’t deny such connection, having dedicated her books to A. Blok, M. Tsvetaeva and A. Akhmatova. So, in the novel «Guardian Angel», donated to the Yelabuga State Museum of M. I. Tsvetaeva and the House-Museum of M. I. Tsvetaeva in Moscow, A. Blok, M. Tsvetaeva and A. Akhmatova are key persons in the Library of the Universe.
In the interview to Eugeny Stepanov for the «Children of Ra» magazine (Gorky-Media, Deti Ra No. 11 (73), 2010), Alexandra didn’t hide her experiments with Time and Space. In response to the question about autobiographical nature of her prose, «Alice walks barefoot on broken glass and hot coals, enters the Temple of the Soul, listens to the Music of the Spheres, merges with the Sky. Is this book based on real events?» she gives an unequivocal answer, «When I was a child, one person told me, „Never write about what you have not gone through yourself“.»
For the «Playing Another Reality» series, mystical and philosophical profound, Alexandra Kryuchkova was awarded two order decorations, «Service to Art» (NP «Literary Republic», 2013) and «For Contribution to the Literature of Russia of the XXI century» (MGO SPR, 2020).
I think Alexandra really serves here, on the Earth, with her literary work to Another Reality.
