The Song of Orpheus

Юрий Мурадов
I'm lost in this world.
I found what I was looking for when I resigned myself.
Just a guest at a strange feast,
I saw the cup on the table, got drunk.
And the veil fell from my eyes,
I remembered who I was in a previous life.
I drank from the hands of the great Zeus,
He said then: "Don't be sour."
Idle amusements are alien to me,
Although I conquered everyone with a kifara.
And there is no such poison worse –
Find, but not remain a couple.
The beloved has gone to the dead in the kingdom,
Couldn't save her from the poison.
She was enslaved to Persephone and Hades,
I've been circling hell for centuries.
Here comes the moment of epiphany,
Memories are torn by a passionate song.
And again death saves me,
Life becomes beautiful again.
