The Upheaval of the Book

Ìîèñåé Õàðèòîíîâ
I will try to reestablish the "mechanism" of the book's essential influence on the life orientation that was reflected in the experienced actions.
It is showen at the slide up the text with the next elements.
=== Initial Target

Having a patchy and very superficial awareness of professional orientation - to the choice of a future profession - I "chose" aircraft construction. And, after all, I had  graduated from the Kharkov Aviation University.
Realizing that the factory engineer or aircraft designer would not take place among me, and having shown some suitability for research activities in the problems of aircraft design as a part-time worker at the specialized department, I was selected to work in TsAGI - the Central Scientific Institution of the Ministry of Aviation Industry.

=== Next Target

There was a focus on a systemic-holistic approach to the study of complex problem situations and I turned out to be useful in the management department of TsAGI (chapter 4B. 3 Acquisition of professional viability).

=== Final Target

The attitude to deep personal self-actualization has brought me to the level of a Mentor for potentially personally strong young people 25-35 years old (the figure above shows some illustration of the process and level of preparedness for the position of mentor).

I - The emergence of purposefulness and motivation

II. Acquisition of an orienting distinction between (a) imitation of form and (b) indeed aspiration to the REAL

III. Finding aspiration for the REAL

1 - vague excitement and patchy superficial dreams of a profession in future adulthood
2 - strengthening purposefulness in this direction and concretization of dreams

IV. strengthening the aspiration for the REAL through the experience of enthusiasm for EXAMPLES OF INVOLVEMENT IN LIFE

V. Inadequate to my essence orientation to copy someone else's REAL LIFE

VI. An impressive reference point to REAL LIFE

3 - there are no unnecessary subjects in schooling
4 - the level of training of the future participant in public life will be the result of the level of mobilization of the student's personal capabilities when studying at school

VII. From copying to REAL: What an effectively trained person should be when he is already involved in social activities was shown by the excited statement of one of the fathers

VIII. REAL at that point in time

5 - fragments of the plot of the book
6 - Situations I'm experiencing
7 - Similar
8 - a sensation that was not wrapped in consciousness
9 - vital deep meanings are hidden behind the texts of the books
10 - And we must strive to get to the identification and understanding of these meanings
11 - In the meantime, the swallowing of books that fell into the hands of almost randomly continued
12 - this breakthrough was postponed as a long-term task

IX. The "turning point in life" is shown

13 - but the form of the worked "product" was already denoted by the picked up term
14 - this is not doing homework, but preparing essays every time
15 - schoolchildren could not yet operate with the concept of "holistic system"
16 - you open the book, you want to concentrate, but extraneous, other feelings and impressions still swirl in you, excerpts of statements sound, you cannot get rid of them, because they come suddenly, roll in waves ...
17 - the hardest part is to organize your thinking
18 - thoughts are scattering
19 - and they have to work for you
20 - the book suggested the "mechanism" of volitional concentration on WHAT should be done
21 - tThe brain must be forced to do your will, in this case, to master the contents of the book
22 - I make him create images of people who don't really exist. That is, there are only their prototypes. And the brain tells them their thoughts, their dreams and, even, speech
X. A person is actualized in society (At the same time, as a schoolboy, I "got infected" with the example of the first girl)

23 - for such a reader, it turned out to be useful to distinguish between the two positions
24 - the following decades have made it clear - I am not inclined to assert myself through DIRECTLY interpersonal competition; confronting others as actors from forces that are alien to me ethically and politically

One position:

25 – a powerful sincere impulse to self-actualization in one girl-student
26 - led her
27 - to the feeling of the existence of a system of relationships of geometric elements and then led to the identification of the desired subsystem of relations
28 - it is self-actualization
29 - she encountered a system object, unknown to her student level, and tried to identify a search task in it
30 - the search algorithm had been set, but the feeling of consistency in the search area gave rise to doubts about the effectiveness of the algorithm
31 - with such doubt, gave rise to a motive
32 - to identify a more efficient search path
33 - the motivation to use the available personal resource for effective intervention in life

Other position:

34 - "customer" - the school system
35 - a specific teacher of a particular school
36 - candidate for the "Gold Medal"
37 - worked out a GIVEN algorithm for searching for an "reward" according to the valuation
38 - received a CONTRACTUAL remuneration - a STANDARD "five"
39 - and the recognition of her as an excellent student (= different from many other students in the class)
40 - much later I learn that such an aspiration to use personal resources to obtain the necessary "rewards" from "solvent" interested parties is defined as "self-realization"

I do not undertake to judge the writer's talent, but the "skill" seems obvious. Well-designed and described instructive examples for a specific listeneres - high school students of the Soviet general education school. I had only two stable channels of educational influence - transmissions from the "dish" of wired radio and library books. In the post-war decade, the "plate" of the home loudspeaker was used extensively; as well hanging (on power line poles, on walls or roofs) loudspeakers were actively used. I remember walking along Lenin Street in Vinnitsa, it was broadcasted some radio play based on a text by Sergei Mikhalkov, and both old and young people sat on the edges of the street sidewalks, listening in raptly to the radio.

Read in the summer holidays on the eve of the 9th grade, the book "Gold Medal", in the Ukrainian language, made a not immediately conscious change in mood.

1. The school teacher

Geography was taught by a Jew, a recent director of another school - there was some kind of incident, either misfortune, or hooliganism - and he was removed from his post. Ourdirectoracceptedhimasateacher.
The teaching of history and providing of class management in the 9th grade was led by a former pilot, who later served in the KGB and was fired from there when Nikita Khrushchev "eradicats Stalin's personality cult." He soundly carried out "events", but did not have a significant educational impact - he honestly observed caution in a new and responsible field for him.
In the 10th class management was transferred to physics teacher who was came to our school from somewhere. Under the impressive surname Ulyanov(this is the surname of Lenin, and Lenin was the party nickname)/.
Class teacher Ulyanov, of course, did not single me out in a special way, but he, as I remember and as we understand now, treated everybody as a specific person. And I received my share of supportive trust and respect from him.
By this point, I already showed myself as a “purposeful” person. The goal was read in manifestations - to understand oneself in the context of the living environment and in some worthy way to take place in it.I didn’t aim at much, feeling my personal weakness: relatively unerudite due to small family communication, enriched only with examples from books, constrained in communication, physically weak ...
The works of Ukrainian literature impressed me more than the Russian classics, pre-Soviet and Soviet. They were impressed not so much by the whole concept of the work, but by individual nuances in the narratives, the words of the characters, and the author's comments. «Do the oxen roar like the manger is full?», «Borislav laughs», “The Weeds”(by Andriy Holovko)…
In the 9th grade, I received for the first time a Certificate of Appreciation for excellent study.
/I understand clearly thatsuchselfrepresentstion is easily imitated – consciously or under the influence of self-delusion. But, subsequent life manifestations that were reflected in the documents, let me hope that I’m swayed by intentional or subconscious self-delusion/
Shown in the book – the personality of the school teacher, the “mechanism” of his influence on students, the results of this impact – prompted carefully and with deep interest to look at my teachers.
YuryYurievich taught for over thirty years, but each new lesson was a source of creativity for him. He hated indifferent artisans and instilled in his students the idea that a person ought be a creator in every profession.
… Attoday lesson YuryYurievich discussed about the education and culture in Russia before bourgeois-democratic revolution at February of 1917. Not everything he talked about could be found in the textbook. None of the students knew that he had been preparing for this lesson until late at night yeaterday.
But, bytheway, “had been preparing” is clearly not the right words. For him it was a creative process, that evoked both inspiration and pleasure. And, like a real artist, he had difficult hours of restless reflections, painful searchers, acute dissatisfaction with his work …YuryYurievichhad elaborated the lesson’s plan in detail, picked up the necessary literature on the topic of the lesson, wrote down a number of questions that would encourage students to independent withdrawals. He had prepared a few diagrams, found a copy of the painting “At the door of the school”. Onaseparate sheet he sketched notes on his own memories of the first years of his teaching.
... Yuri Yuryevich was especially keenly aware of his responsibility for their future. Many of them checked with him in grief and joy, asked for advice, talked about their secrets, shared cherished dreams. It was a joyous reward for many years of work."
... and the teacher told about Michurin and Tsiolkovsky, about the tragic fate of Sedov's expedition...

I quote.

"The teacher sits and thinks. He's been in the Kommunist Party for twenty years. The Party taught him to carefully and intelligently educate each student, to raise in a paternal way, with a sensitive heart."

Now I understand that the author of the book, perhaps genuinely disoriented by the oppressive ideological propaganda, ATTRIBUTES to the Party, this central executive instrument of a totalitarianly organized society, the concern that children should grow into people living REAL LIFE.The Communist Party of the Soviet Union directed to the "careful and reasonable" = expedient education of "every student", so that he would grow into a person who was attuned and able to use his natural potential to live effectively as a unit of a totalitarian society - in the interests of such a society.

I'll keep quoting.

«... And now former seventh-grade students became tenth-graders. Each of them forms a character, each of them has traits thoughtfully instilled by the teacher, by school ..."
I also quote.
«The teacher sits and thinks. He's been in the party for twenty years. The party taught him to carefully and intelligently educate each student, to raise in a paternal way, with a sensitive heart».
2. Imitation of forms and aspiration to REAL

- Imitation of forms

... a small episode /with the student's question - whether it will be a repetition of the fact that he said in the wake of the textbook of the student/ could not disturb the teacher's feeling that a singing string was stretched in the classroom - she responded to every word with a lively trembling. Yuri Yuryevich joyfully listened to her, reading their thoughts on the faces of students.

I got the waymarks to the some - specific and vital for me to figure out self way of living and indeed TO LIVE – some understanding of those, who do you live next to.
“Talking, for example, with LidaShepel, listening to her answers in class, the teacher "seemed to see in front of him a wooden mannequin of a tailor. Shepel could talk with surprising dryness about the most exciting events, and it seemed that she was only interested in one thing: what grade would the teacher give?
… Lida was a "cracker" in character. She read only those works that "passed" according to the program, she did not participate in circles. When she was once offered to join a sports club, she replied:
- Sport is not in my plan... And in general - it will not feed me for old age.
For pedantry, for the manner of reporting in the classroom she was not loved.
One day on the way out of school, the girls looked up at the sky... One of them wondered: - Where is the North Star?
«...Please do not arrange at least an astronomy lesson on the street," Shepel called out.- By the way, I am unlikely to have to deal with the heavenly bodies in my profession.».
… And such students as MechikGaidai, always licked, emphatically neat with a spectacular gale - the subject of special concerns, led to a sad question: what activity is Gaidai preparing himself for? What are his ideals, dreams?»
Examples of interaction between the individual and the collective... later, this experience of excitement the situation will be a guide and volitional support in my opposition to the "collective", prompted and guided by supra-collective manipulators and my own base impulses.

Yuri Yuryevich looked closely at the student and knew that a serious conversation was brewing with her and that a conflict between Shepel and the whole class was inevitable. He was waiting for this conversation, was ready for it, every day he was convinced that Lida herself was approaching the "explosion".
Teachers' understanding has changed.
Crammers and those who understand - imitators and real...

3.Aspiration to the REAL
... not being able and not trying to intelligibly determine (this I can now try) what fascinated me in the experiences and actions of another student, I somewhere absorbed into my motivational sphere a sample of her dedication:
«... Zhukova tensely listened to Yuri Yuryevich and from time to time quickly wrote down in a notebook some of his expressions or opinions. She diligently studied cursive writing and made notes with stenographic signs.
Some of her friends and comrades made angry jokes about her love of shorthand, which she learned during the holidays almost on her own. Julia shrugged her shoulders in response...
-How can you not understand how much these "hieroglyphs" save time for recordings? And especially for the student or organizer!»
====   I don't remember where I got a shorthand textbook and learned how to use shorthand. A few years later, this led to a significant episode while studying at the Aviation Institute. More on that later.
From some worries and patchy superficial dreams about the profession in the future adult life, the book led to a stronger purposefulness in this direction and to the concretization of theresdreams:

“… Shepel - By the way, I hardly have to deal with celestial bodies in my profession.
And what you have to design an interstellarship? Imagine that you are called to Moscow.  -  «Dear ingeneerShepel. The government entrusts you with a very responsible task. You must to construct nuclear rocket vechicle for to flight at Moon».
-I’llrefuse,-seriously answered Shepel.-I’ll say that my specialty -earth mashines. Andalso,-she added,-for such a task thre are other experts, for example, your father.
- Lida, how d’youchoosed your specialty? -Mariika asked, she was deeply concerned about this question. Even in the 9th grade, she tride in vein to determine which works she was most interested in. she wanted to be outstanding zoologist and researcher of nature, or an agronomist-breeder, as her Mather, or a geologist-explorer.In each of these professions had so much appeal,  so many opportunities to bring the greatest usefulness to hers people....
... witheverynewpageofthemanual, witheverynewlessonoftheteacher-“astronomer” infrontofgirlitbecomeopenedfascinating, full of unsolved mysteries immense world. And at the same time, an increasingly deeper understanding of the great practical application of astronomical science in life came.
Polishchuk wrote a substantive report on this topic, starting it with a description of Chkalov's unparalleled flight across the Arctic. Such a flight would not have been possible," the student emphasized, "without astronomical methods of orientation. She wrote about astronomy as a science that freed man from superstition, entered into a struggle with religion, helped man to know the laws of nature in order to conquer it.
The report was a great success with tenth-graders, and the teacher in front of the whole class praised the student for her excellent preparation. ... Increasingly, the girl's opinion came to light - why shouldn't she really devote her life to this science.
...And Mariyka thought. She asked herself if she would find so much fervor in herself to love this science all her life to give her all her strength. And what if disappointment comes? What could be scarier than a profession you don't love!»
LidaSheptel- «…ona has already firmly chosen her future specialty, - she will work as an engineer, build machines.
...How did I choose a profession? Here, it seems to me, everyone can have their own method. Yes, yes, method. I consciously used that word... And my method, I consider the most perfect. I proceed from the considerations that the profession should be chosen the one in which the state now feels the most urgent need. It goes without saying that when you successfully choose a scarce profession, you can achieve fame faster, and in general... To achieve a prominent place among the community. And your own desires do not matter much here. You can get involved in, say, astronomy, but this does not mean that you will be an outstanding astronomer and that astronomers are the most necessary and scarce profession in our state.
... And so I began to reflect on this issue and came to the conclusion that in the years of the attack on the spontaneous forces of nature, appropriate equipment is most needed. You can't dig giant canals with intercessions. We need powerful machines. And so I finally determined my production credo».

- You say," Nina objected with fervor, "that the choice of profession is a cold calculation, not a matter of the heart. Not right, Shepel! The profession is chosen for life, and therefore it is necessary that it be loved, so that you burn at your job! In your beloved work you will create, and in forced, random you will become an artisan!
Mariyka was surprised that Shepel so limits the range of his interests. Is it possible to live like this? Of course, physics should be known well, but how can a Soviet girl, a Komsomol member, not be interested in politics and art? Yes, what's the matter? What prevents her from having fives in all subjects?
The girl was surprised to think that she had never asked herself this question before. Why hadn't she thought about it as seriously as she did now? Why? Maybe she imperceptibly became quite an adult?

4.Enthusiasm of INCLUSION IN REAL LIFE
…- Well, mommy, tell me. I already know, I see from you that you are celebrating victory.
- Now you will celebrate with me, Mariyka! Although the final victory is still far away. Well, you know that last year I sowed the best wheat grains of my new variety. I selected three thousand grains with my own hands - the most selective, with wonderful signs. When the stairs were closed, I carefully dived a thousand of the most bushy of them and transplanted them into the garden bed, like seedlings, only a little deeper, so that adventitious roots appeared. Why are you looking at me in thise manner?
- Mom, how much patience, perseverance do you have!
- And maybe I tell you this so that you learn to work with inspiration. In a word - how poets write poetry. But listen, listen. Seedlings bitten surprisingly - 35 stems from one root. And spikelets - each longer than twenty centimeters! The harvest was calculated - 40 centners per hectare. Do you understand it?

While we burn with freedom,
As long as hearts for honor live,
My friend, let's dedicate it to our fatherland
The beautiful impulses of our souls!
- «The beautiful impulses of our souls», -Mariyka thoughtfully repeated. -And I have a rush, I also want to give all my strength to the Fatherland. But I'm kind of in a fog. Mom, I still don't know what my vocation is. It torments me. The last months at school, and then - which specialty to choose?

…But today I stepped even further, I am already seriously looking for reasons that prevent me from studying for the five. I have already become an adult, mom?...

5.Copying someone else's REAL LIFE
Through professional employment in the aircraft industry, there was a FULL inclusion in REAL = REAL life. The fact that I was not a pilot was already clear: I passed a medical examination, a theoretical pre-flight course at the school of gliders at the city flying club and at the first practical lesson "ground towing of the glider" took the control stick on itself, took off some meter and after such an unforeseen "flight" …..
In a small cozy mansion, in the depths of the garden, fenced with a brick wall, lives the famous designer of passenger aircraft Roman Gerasimovich.
Today he did not go to the factory and sat all day over the drawings. Some important detail fascinated him. He did not accept anyone, turned off the phone and only once or twice called the design bureau himself.
Sometimes he would break away from tracing paper, and then his daughter Nina, who worked in the next room, heard heavy slow steps. When she returned from school, she had not yet seen her father: she wanted to tell him a few words, but she could not interrupt his important work.

6.An impressive reference point to REAL LIFE
…she spoke further, sighing, Mariyka. - You know, Nino, it seems to me that every person has some moments in life - hours or months - when a person becomes different in something. ... A person has turning points in life, when suddenly this or that character trait disappears, and a new one is born. For some people, the reason for this is some big event in life, you understand — such an event that makes you look back on your journey, well, in others... like me... I just have a firm decision that you can't go on like this...
- I, Nino, also had such a turn in life. I must have become a truly adult. Internally grown, you know? ... Of course, this did not happen suddenly, I thought about it before. But finally there came a time when I saw everything with particular clarity. What, for example, do I have the right to study "middle by half" without using all my capabilities? We must replace the elders, as builders of the new world, as creators. Who gave me, the Komsomol members, the right to receive three grades? I often, often thought: young guards, Oleg Koshevoy, Zoya, without hesitation, gave their lives for the happiness of the Motherland, and I cannot force myself to study well! So far, this is the only thing that the Motherland requires of me. No, you just think about it! After all, in fact, I am not a real Komsomol member, this should not be the case as a Komsomol member!
"What did you decide?" Nina asked.
-To be in the forefront of excellent students," Mariyka flashed her eyes. "How do you like it?" From today, to cultivate willpower, this is once, to put an end to neglect in your work, to scrape out of your being to the remains of laziness, this is second.
- I think that the hardest thing will be to temper willpower," Nina said seriously. - You have to fight it yourself. You know, dad told me that when he was a teenager, he decided to become a design engineer once for all, to build airplanes. And he had that goal in front of him all the time, he fought for it.
Barely conscious sensations of a couple of interconnected phenomena:
- there are no unnecessary subjects in schooling - masters from pedagogy have formed a set that best links the capabilities of schoolchildren (personal, family and household) with the future need of society for the legal capacity of its members;
- the level of training of the future participant in public life will be the result of the level of mobilization of the personal capabilities of the student when studying at school.

7.From copying to REAL

What should be an effectively trained person when he is already involved in social activities, showed the excited statement of one of the fathers.…
Roman Harasymovych sat down between his daughter and Mariyka.…Well, well, look into yourself. The formula here is simple: love and two-core work. Here I will say about myself: I am an experienced designer, but I had to redo one part for the aircraft eighteen times. Each time the detail improved, but still did not satisfy me. And it was only today that I seem to have found what was missing.
- Damn good job! Do you understand, my dear, what a pleasure it is? Ah, what a delight it is, my dear girls!
- And how did you have, Roman Garasimovich? Mariyka asked. - How did you become a constructor?
- I have it the first time. I looked - and fell in love. Forever! I was fifteen years old. My father was still alive. By the way, he is an accountant of one publishing house, and not an artisan, but a talented accountant, the numbers lived and spoke to him. So, near Kiev, I happened to see how young aircraft modelers launched their models. And he became fascinated forever. He organized a circle of aircraft modellers at school, and it went and went... Of course, not only - roses. There were hard experiences, spines, and simply - in the heart, in the heart! Although it was already knocking, I remember, thirty years, but I cried. What can I say! This is when the pilot died in the test of a new model of aircraft. The plane was my design. He worked on it day and night, with passion, with enthusiasm. And some trifle passed by attention, and now - the death of the pilot! It turns out that creativity is not only the heart, but also the brain, the iron, unswerving brain!
With apparent joy, he glanced at the door behind which a picture of detail lay on the table.
-I have my own opinion about this. I say that there are no people without talent! Every person necessarily has some talent, talent! And often, very often the person himself does not know what his talent is for! And I don't see, by the way, much difference between talent and creative work. In all professions! There is a shoemaker and a shoemaker. The first is the creator, the second is the artisan.
… It was twelve o'clock in the morning. Nina sat at the lessons. Several times the mother came into his father's office and talked to someone on the phone. Nina knew that her mother was calling the factory - dad was not at home for the second day, he was finishing hasty work.

I will not overload this publication of mine with quotes from the book, there are several more exciting stories with aircraft construction in it.

8.REAL
Mariyka herself secretly wondered with what exaltation she turned out to correspond to the lesson (about the writer's work of LesyaUkrainka). She felt an urgent need to speak in front of the whole class, to tell everything she had learned this morning while sitting over books. And if someone had told Mariyka that her exaltation was just from self-confidence, because she had learned a lesson, coped well with her homework, the student would probably have protested.
The teacher sat down at the table, propped her chin with her fists and prepared to listen. But soon she turned her head to Mariyka interestedly, her eyebrows raised from a pleasant surprise. So no one in this class answered her yet. The teacher immediately felt that the student had not only learned the lesson brilliantly. No, she told not in the language of the textbook, but in her own excited words that, apparently, she changed her mind herself, what she had read from other books, and as if alive, the image of the writer - a courageous woman, a wrestler - emerged from her story...
When Mariyka started talking about how the writer imagined the happiness of a person, the teacher stood up and, all enlightened, as if younger, joyfully continued to listen to the student. And Mariyka spoke passionately about...
The class somehow strangely quieted down. Maria Polishchuk, an ordinary tenth-grader who was no different from other students, suddenly stepped over some invisible trait and seemed to grow on a whole head. And it was all the more surprising that she answered only the usual lesson!
Mariyka felt this intense attention.... The teacher looked at her watch with regret and reluctantly backed the student: I wanted to listen to her to the end”. …

====   Plot and similar fragments of the book ... They gave birth to unconscious feeling, that according to the texts of books ñêðûòûæèñíñííûådeepinnyeñìûñëûèíàäîòî aspirations get to the appearance and perception of these words. No, this project has been postponed on-potom, as a task in the far future.  It will show the passage of books that fell into the hands of the retinue in a common image.

And on the other lesson:

… Once, - said Zhukova, - was the best, noblest profession - a revolutionary!
- Why - was? - Yuri Yuryevich objected, - and completely, you know, this is not true! This profession has not disappeared, it cannot disappear on earth. She only, so to speak, removed other forms. And the grandiose revolutionary struggle in our country for the renewal of the land, for communism? After all, every Soviet person in this sense is a fighter, a revolutionary professional. Did … -not revolutionary? And …?
… "I agree, I agree," Julia hummed. - And how do I... How do I want to become a real revolutionary!

9.The "turning point in life" is shown
Only a month has passed since Mariyka had a "turning point in her life", when she decided to become different, completely different, to cultivate real willpower and move into the ranks of the best excellent students in the tenth grade.
... The girl often saw the glass huge dome of a round building somewhere among the high mountains, where alpine pastures begin.
It was an astronomical observatory. She, Mariyka, sits in a deep chair, crouching against the glasses of a powerful telescope. There is a dull night in the mountains. The Earth rushes through the cosmic expanses, and with her Mariyka rushes towards unknown constellations, towards the mysterious, beautiful queen of the night - the planet Moon. No, it is not mysterious at all. As you can see perfectly on it are the uneven, wavy edges of the craters, wide cracks, some of them probably a few kilometers wide!
And one such night an unusual event occurred in the Mari of life - it revealed signs of living beings being on the moon. Thus, contrary to all scientific evidence, Mariyka proves that there are intelligent living inhabitants on the "dead" planet...
The girl forcefully knocks her palm on the table.
"Ah, here you are! You still see fantastic romance in your future profession and for that you love it! No, you will love her for her creative everyday life, for hard work, for the joy of serving the people with your work!"
…Mariyka's working day began earlier than usual. She started it with physical exercises and sat down to finish lessons she didn't have time to complete yesterday.
… Mariyka has never now been limited to mastering the material according to the textbook. She selected books and magazines in the library. In magazines, she often found new material, read scientific research, which in a new way covered this or that issue in science or literature.
Preparing tasks on pedagogy, Mariyka was very interested in the works of Makarenko. She even bought them to always have on hand.
A pedagogy teacher, pleasantly surprised by Mariyka's deep knowledge, once asked her in class:
- Are you very interested in pedagogy, Polishchuk? Are you preparing to become an educator?
"No, Maria Makarivno," replied the student, "I don't feel like a taco calling in me. But I am interested in pedagogy.
However, a similar question could be addressed to Mariyka and a chemistry teacher. Chemistry, like astronomy, was especially interested in her. The student was struck by the power of science. The girl admired the courage of Soviet scientists who invaded the most secret laboratory of nature and themselves learned to create such substances that they had previously been given only by wildlife.
Mariyka also loved chemistry for telling what substances the planets consist of and helped determine the age of her grandmother Earth. On the Marichiny table one could see the works of Mendeleev, Butlerov and Zelinsky. She read a lot of works of art - both classics and modern writers.
Never before has Mariyka worked so hard. An unshadowed clear mind, a sharp inquisitive thought helped her grasp the most important thing, to penetrate the wonderful treasures of science. The more she learned, the more boundlessly the world of scientific achievements opened up to her, the more she was ignited by the desire to learn about everything, to understand everything.
The greatest pleasure for her was now the knowledge of life. Of course, she did not soar with an eagle in highness, she was still a chick, had pads instead of wings and looked at the world from a low branch. But all the more fascinated Mariyka with the secret thought of soaring up and looking at life from the highest flight. She recalled the unexplored feelings that awaited her, the keen pleasure of reaching a dizzying hill, when the most talented discoveries and inventions come to man as a reward for the torment of creativity, for tireless work.

====   Apparently, I felt in this then, and now I am already aware, that here is an increasingly complete systemic-holistic vision of life and a determination to build up this immeasurable, in its essence, fullness. I felt this (but, I was incapable and, I remember, was not encouraged to realize and articulate the sensation) as a real inclusion in life, and not just a physical existence.

Schoolchildren could not yet operate with the concept of "integral system = holistic", but the form of the triggered "product" was already denoted by the picked up term:
-You do not do your homework, but prepare essays every time”.

The book suggested the "mechanism" of volitional concentration on WHAT to do.

“… -You know, the hardest part for me was to organize an opinion. I'm still breaking down on this now. ... You opened the book, you want to concentrate, but outsiders, other feelings and impressions are still raging in you, passages of sentences sound, you cannot get rid of them, because they run in passing, roll in waves... Opinions run wild, and you can't mobilize them. And they must work for you, these are your faithful servants. The brain must be forced to fulfill your will, in this case to master the content of the book... I force him to create images of people who don't really exist. That is, there are only their prototypes. And he tells me their thoughts, their dreams and even their language.

10.A person is actualized in society

I was impressed and remembered forever about the "glory of Herostratus" - the desire to impress the accessible society led the unfortunate person to the only harm available to him. Later, I was impressed by Caligulla's cautionary case.
Ostanniymchas, kolivona, zavirazMechika, "nahapala" povishchodennikp'yatirok, prichymu "osoblyvih", z yakikhkozhnavartabuladvoh, Mariykapomitalashchos nova v protani do doclassmates.
Mariyka had "special" excellents (as the teacher N.P. put it for the first time). Increasingly, teachers called Mariyka as an example for the whole class, admired her deep answers, her impeccable tests.
The stable and well-known candidate for the medal, Nina, reassured her jealousy with the image that "she will finish school with a gold medal, but how she will be with Mariyka is still unknown; Will this year's fives help her when she was mostly on triples in previous grades. Thefinalexamwillshoweverything."

====  I remember my final exam in Russian literature. I didn't even think about the medal or the five for an essay on this exam, what topics would be proposed for the essay , I strained to remember the general structure of the written work, some general phrases that could be useful.

I don't recall envying the honors students – it wasn't my level; I remember catching with some bitterness that my friend, the son of a street shoemaker, recognized as a four-legged man more good than I was, but I had no attempt to catch up and overtake him. The following decades made it clear to me that I was not inclined to assert myself through DIRECT interpersonal competition; I confront others as actors from forces that are alien to me ethically and politically.

“…- But I was happy when I checked Maria Polishchuk's notebook, - said the teacher of trigonometnia further. - She solved the problem, in addition to the usual, in another way, in a very simple way. However, finding it was not entirely easy.
She summoned Mariyka, and she showed her way on the board. Exclamations of surprise were heard - how easily and witty the problem is solved!

Nina Korobeynyk listened to Mariyka's explanation with bated breath. Her way was so simple that it seemed transparent to Nina. But she realized that it was possible to solve such a brilliant task only after a long workout; probably for long night hours, Mariyka was sitting at home over trigonometry...

And Nina herself was eager to lock herself up in the room for the whole night, postpone her literary exercises for a while and work, gritting her teeth the way Mariyka apparently works.
Nina silently looked at the top five under her test and thought that Mariyka also had five. But are they equal, these fives? Is it possible to equally evaluate her and Marichina's control? Mariyka solved the problem talentedly, not like everyone else. Was she, Nina, so far behind? Isn'tsheastalentedasMariyka?
====   There are two positions here, I remember that I liked Mariyka and caused rejection of Nina with her experiences. But, it is only through many years of self-actualization that I can understand the essential difference between the positions.:

- a powerful sincere impulse to self-actualization in Mariyka led her to a sense of the existence of a system of relationships of geometric elements and led to the identification of the desired subsystem of relations. The act of self-actualization is that she encountered a system object unknown to her student level and looked for a search task in it. The search algorithm was set, but the sense of consistency in the search area gave rise to doubts about the effectiveness of the algorithm; the urge to use a disposable personal resource to intervene effectively in life, with such doubt, gave rise to the motive of identifying a more effective way of searching.

- Nina, a candidate for "gold", worked out a GIVEN search algorithm and received a CONTRACTUAL reward from the "customer", from the school education system in the person of a specific teacher of a particular school - a STANDARD "five". And recognition of her as an excellent student (= different from many other students in the class) from these very other students in the class. Much later, I learn that such an aspiration to use personal resources to obtain the necessary "rewards" from "solvent" interested parties is defined as "self-realization".
Such impressive manifestations of Mariyka were in all the lessons:
…Lukashevich looked at Mariyka surreptitiously. Recently, Polishchuk seems to have been born for the second time. And this is in front of everyone. When she answered, I wanted to listen to her again and again. And then it seemed that you were sitting not in an ordinary lesson, but at an interesting lecture, and everything that Mariyka tells about, she seemed to see with her own eyes».

====  At the same time, as a schoolboy, I "became infected" with the example of Mariyka.

AFTERWORD

1. Having a patchy and very superficial awareness of professional orientation - to the choice of a future profession - I "chose" aircraft construction. And, after all, I had  graduated from the Kharkov Aviation Institute.
Realizing that the factory engineer or aircraft designer would not take place among me, and having shown some suitability for research activities in the problems of aircraft design as a part-time worker at the specialized department, I was selected to work in TsAGI - the Central Scientific Institution of the Ministry of Aviation Industry.

2.There was a focus on a systemic-holistic approach to the study of complex problem situations and I turned out to be useful in the management department of TsAGI (chapter 4B. 3 Acquisition of professional viability).

3. The attitude to deep personal self-actualization has brought me to the level of a Mentor for potentially personally strong young people 25-35 years old (the figure above shows some illustration of the process and level of preparedness for the position of mentor).
