This is the real koan. And, at the same time, for me - it's a joke. I'll explain. The question is "What will you do?" The answer is simple. We need to continue. We need to keep digging. And you need to continue to become confident in yourself. The intellect says that there is a contradiction here, that it is impossible to do this, that it is impossible to go this way. But it's not. In the logical space, in the space of the intellect, there really is no way out. But in the space of life, wisdom-prajna, dialectics (not in the space of intellect!) here the path is open, there is no obstacle, here you just need to keep digging.
This is what patience is. Keep digging. Continue to do what you must, without any hope of a result. When Shiva disappeared (and this meant that the world actually collapsed), the devas came to Parvati and asked: "What should we do?" "Keep doing what you've been doing," Parvati replied. It should be noted here that each deva fulfilled his own dharma. Or, in other words, he "did what he had to do." And Parvati said that they must continue to "do what they must."
Zen says the same.

Это самый настоящий коан. И, одновремнно, для меня - это шутка. Я поясню. Вопрос "Что делать будете?". Ответ на него прост. Нужно продолжать. Нужно продолжать копать. И нужно продолжать становиться уверенным в себе. Интеллект говорит, что здесь противоречие, что это невозможно сделать, что пройти этим путем нельзя. Но это не так. В логическом пространстве, в пространстве интеллекта здесь действительно нет выхода. Но в пространстве жизни, мудрости-праджни, диалектики (не в пространстве интеллекта!) здесь путь открыт, здесь нет препятствия, здесь нужно просто продолжать копать.
Это и есть терпение. Продолжать копать. Продолжать делать то, что должно, без всякой надежды на результат. Когда Шива исчез (а это означало, что мир, фактически, рухнул), дэвы пришли к Парвати и спросили: "Что нам делать?". "Продолжайте делать, то, что делали", - ответила Парвати. Тут нужно отметит, что каждый дэв выполнял свою дхарму. Или, другими словами, он "делал то, что должно". И Парвати сказала, что они должны продолжать "делать то, что должно".
Дзен говорит то же самое.
