Martha's thoughts, against her will, often returned to her former lover. The memory of him, love for him like a pulse beat in her blood, and it was not in her power to change it.

And at the same time, she was happy, clearly happy with her new boyfriend, as intensely and completely happy as if... Kidan returned to her. But he was not there, and sometimes this new acquaintance, on the contrary, in some strange way emphasized his absence, increasing the acuteness of the feelings, her heart seemed to say: “Yes, I am not alone, and I am happy, but it’s not you, Kidan! You are not with me! You never wrote to me, never came back! And I was waiting for you, I believed in your return!"

On Sunday they walked in Goloseevsky Park. Martha came here from time to time, firstly, because she loved this place, and her heart still found peace here, and secondly, she checked: had the fountain been repaired?

She set a wish: once the fountain is repaired, Kidan will return! And her soul believed it. Each time she came here with a secret hope: what if it already has happened?..

But this time the fountain was still silent. She remembered how they passed by on a trolleybus together, and Kidan, bending over her knees to the window, asked with a smile: "Was that in this fountain you swam?" And soon the fountain has stopped working. So soon after these words... Who are you, Kidan? Who are you?

Ejaz's voice and the touch of his hand brought her back to reality. They walked in the park, rode the merry-go-rounds, and soon the cloud of sadness that came over her brow, when they entered the park, disappeared.

She was having fun again.

After the date, Edzhaz certainly accompanied her. When they returned to the stop along Khreshchatyk, Ejaz sang a song that she liked the most:

Kabhi kabhi mere dil mein
khayal aata hai,
ke jaise tujko banaya gaya hai mere liye.
Tu ab se pehle sitaron mein bas rahi thi kahin,
tuje jamin pe bulya gaya he mere liye.

- What a beautiful song! Translate it for me.

- You were a little star in the sky, but God sent you on the Earth only for me.

“No,” she smiled, shaking her head and averting her sad eyes, “not for you!"

“Only for me,” Edjaz repeated with unshakable confidence, and then added easily, “It's just singing songs".

He seemed to be so simple guy! It did not even occur to Marta that he perfectly notices her sudden transitions from joy to sadness and back and waits, calmly waits for her to speak.

Since then, this song has sunk into her soul and has become her favorite of all the songs that he sang for her. Over time, she fell in love with many of them and learned them by heart, but this song remained special, exciting and so accurately conveys the very essence of their relationship.
