No need to rush

Another week comes, stays, and goes,
Soon everyone’s on holiday.
But for me, it makes no difference
Whether it’s the weekend or a Monday.
My working life is now long over,
And in this one, I shan’t rush.
Whatever day and time it is
I may forget but I don’t blush!
The days have all become a blur
As our lives continue on.
Sometimes our grandkids might stop by
Though they are busy having fun.
I spend my days on the phone
With my girlfriends.
We talk about the same things,
And sit down at the computer to write.
I forget everything I know…
What day is it again?
What’s aching this time, or how the husband’s doing.
I turn off the phones
