Age is not always happiness
A sure sign of a man's old age is when he doesn’t care where his wife goes—so long as she doesn't drag him along!
— Proverb

These words quite correctly convey the state of one in their later years—no matter man or woman!
In my old age, I began noticing some of my shortcomings: for example, forgetting words (in Russian and English!). I recall an anecdote.
At the nursing home, Jim proposed to Jane. She responded, "Yes." The next morning, he could not remember whether she had accepted or declined. He decided to call her. She said:
- It's good that you called. I remember that yesterday I answered “Yes” to the someone, but I couldn't remember who it was!
Indeed, as they say—long life, long torment! Oh my. If you have to remember words in English, then you understand how difficult it is!
They say that in old age it is necessary to take stock of life, remember the good you have done, what you’ve learned, whom you helped, whom you annoyed, with whom you have bonded, and whom you didn’t care for... This is life, after all, and nothing can be done about it.
One end awaits us all. But no one wants to hear these words from their doctor.

I recall an anecdote:
The doctor to the patient during the round:
— Well, I think that next week Nikolai Petrovich will examine you.
— Is this your professor?
— No, this is our coroner!

Whether you laughed or smiled, my dear reader, it’s OK! Let me share with you another joke.
— Mr. Rabinovich, when do you think we’ll be confident that the COVID-19 pandemic is over?
— It’s simple, look at the ads. As soon as you see ads that say, “Selling toilet paper and buckwheat for cheap. Ask for Maria Ivanovna,” consider that there is nothing more to fear.
Yes, we were very worried because of this terrible virus. Even the American president got infected with it. Thank God, he was quickly cured! I hope that this terrible global pandemic will end soon and everyone will return to normal life!
Did you know that the International Day of Happiness is celebrated every year on March 20?
The International Day of Happiness was declared by a 2012 United Nations resolution to promote the idea that happiness is a fundamental human goal for everyone.
My dear readers, do you agree that every person dreams of being happy?Unfortunately, not everyone does. Read this parable.
Once upon a time, there were three friends, and each dreamed of being happy. But they saw happiness in different ways. The first thought that happiness was wealth, the second thought that happiness was talent, and the third believed that happiness was having a family. In the end, they all achieved their version of happiness. Before their deaths, the friends gathered to take stock.
The first one said, “I was rich, but I did not experience happiness. I'm dying a miser and a misanthropist.”
The second said, “I was talented, but I did not experience happiness. I am leaving this life tormented by loneliness.”
The third said, “I have learned what happiness is. I am leaving, being treated kindly by my loved ones, and leaving Earth with the most valuable thing—new people.”
Now, are you thinking about your happiness in your own life? How often have you thought about having a large family, with children and grandchildren, or having elderly parents and problems with money? Your work, family, and care for the young and the old might take up all of your free time! In the end, there may not have been enough time to look back and think a little about yourself? Were you happy when your children, and then grandchildren, were excited to talk to you, and listened intently when you told them your life’s stories? If so, this is a story about you.
The International Holiday of Happiness is a holiday for you! So, let's rejoice at every joyful event, let's have fun. May you always smile!
Every day is brighter while a smile! Let’s live!

How nice it is to read such words! Older people, talking with their grandchildren, get such pleasant and healthy emotions that they feel better and happier! We thank our children and grandchildren!
