Animals

Àéðåíàðäà
Every single day an animal dies somewhere.

Not because of some natural disaster, but because  we, humans, feed ourselves with their meat and blood.

Who asked them? Do we ask a cow, before cutting her head of? Do we exuse ourselfs in front of a dozen hens:  “I am so hungry, so, I am sorry, but may I, humbly, kill you?”. No. We just assume, that we are humans and we are more priveledged, than other animals.

What if… Yes, what if animals have feelings? They can not talk, but, are we so sure, that they are nothing more, than a walking meat, ready to be cooked and served?

Nowadays we have people, who refuse to eat meat. Some of them explain that choice with their taste in food, some of them speak on behalf of animals, saying, that we have no right to kill them, no right to cause them pain. That we are all equal — all the nature’s creatures.

Meateaters say: “Animals kill each other every single day too, so what?”
But humans have weapons, cars, and two hands with five fingers on each, capable to destroy the world.

Vegetarians, they believe, that it is immoral to kill animals. Why? Because the times, when we were killing  only for need are gone. Nowadays we kill for fun also: we make  furniture from the skin of living creatures, that are breathing the same air, that we do.

So, by refusing to eat meat, people are acknowledging the rights of animals. The possibility, that maybe, we have been doing crime by ignoring the moral side of our acts.

Some of vegetarians love animals, some just respect nature. And others just think further and try to see past their desires and analyze their decisions.

Beacause, in the end of the day, killing — is still killing.
