Once upon a time in 1895 there were a duke and a duchess. Once they had feelings for each other. There was love, romance and candlelight dinners. Years passed and they got married. The duke took the duchess on a white horse and they left for the castle. Some time later he began to leave the castle more and more often and he didn’t pay attention to his wife. The duchess started to guess that something was wrong and she asked him if he had a lover but the duke didn’t answer and went to bed. Some time later the duchess caught her husband with a lover. The duchess ran away without thinking twice and the duke ran for her.
The duchess asked: Why do you need a lover if you have me?
The duke answered: I am a man and I need a new woman.
The duchess: Then why did you marry me? Did you love me?
The duke: Enough, you will be my wife till death does us apart and I will make love to who I want
The duchess: Er-er. But it is impossible. Either we are together or I am leaving.
The duke hit his wife, he locked her in a room and he left. He only said to her: «If you leave I’ll kill you.» He ordered a guard to keep an eye on his wife. The duchess didn’t wait for him and she planned how to escape. Days passed and finally the duchess began her escape. At first she seduced two guards then she took the keys away from them, the duchess lured them to the room and locked them. Then she went downstairs and quickly got out of the castle to a street while her husband was on the hunt.
This way the duchess escaped from the castle. Eight days later she met a man. He was a usual peasant. And the duchess immediately fell in love with him and the man fell in love with her too. And they settled down in the country.
Ninety days later the duke found the duchess. He got furious and killed the man, took his wife back to the castle. He beat her up, locked her in the castle and left. Three days later he came and there was no his wife in the castle. Because the castle had new guards, the duchess seduced them, took the keys away from them, locked them in the castle and escaped again.
The enraged duke killed the guards and went to look for his wife. Day after day he was looking for her but he couldn’t find his wife. Two years later the duke fell into a swamp and it sucked him in.
105 years passed since then. No one heard about the duchess. Someone says she was a slut in a local village which no longer exists.
Someone says she was killed for debts, someone said that she had drowned in the swamp and she took her husband with her. Someone says that people saw her with a rich man in the country, with the man she married and had four kids with. But no one knows this. Since the duchess escaped from the castle nothing has been known about her.
