purushenatma-bhutena viryam adhatta viryavan

kala - of eternal time; vrtytya - under the influence; that - but; mayayam - in the external energy; guna-mayyam - in the modes of nature; adhoksajah - the transcendental; purushena - the embodiment of the purusha; atma-bhutena - which is the full expansion of the Lord; viryam - by the seeds of the living entities; adhatta - impregnated; viryavan - the Supreme living Being.
The supreme living being in the transcendental incarnation of the purusha — the full expansion of the Lord — fertilizes the material nature consisting of the three gunas. Thus, under the influence of eternal time, living beings are born.
3.4.1 Author of words.
This shlok is from Vidura's conversation with Maitreya Rsi.
Vidura, on the advice of Uddhava, went to the source of the Ganges where, in solitude, Maitreya Rsi spent his days.
3.4.2 History of writing.
The chapter is called: On the greatness of devotional service.
Vidura reached Hardwar and there he began to ask him a question. He wanted everything that Maitreya talked about was related to Krishna.
Analogy: Just like a fire that devours firewood is never satisfied, so a devotee of the Lord can never hear enough stories about Krishna. (SB 3.5.10)
He asked about the following:
• About purusha avatars;
• About the virat-rupe;
• About Leela avatars;
• About different living creatures created by Narainaya.
Maitreya respectfully thanked Vidura for his wonderful questions and glorified his compassion, thanks to which we can read this narrative now.3.4.3 Verse Genre - Answers to Questions.
3.4.4 Theme of the verse.

/ SB 3.25.25 /
The discussion about krishna-katha is viryavan. Just like there is sex life, if a man is viryavan, then there will be a pregnancy. Similarly, if we listen to a devotee, then there will be an immediate action, some tendency, “Why not become Krsna conscious?” This is viryavan. ” Lecture on Srimad-Bhagavatam 3.25.25 (November 25, 1974, Bombay.3.4.6 Comment analysis.
Key points: This verse contains one of the secrets that Srimad Bhagavatam reveals:
• Mother - material nature is not able to create any living creature from material elements until the Supreme Lord has fertilized it. This is the secret of the origin of life;
• When the material cosmos passes into a manifested state, the Lord Himself populates it with living beings, which in no case can be considered a product of material nature. Therefore, whatever progress material science has achieved, scientists will never succeed in creating a living being. In fact, this is the whole mystery of material creation, living beings are by nature alien to matter and therefore are not able to find happiness outside the spiritual being of the Lord.
3.4.7 Srila Prabhupada's mood.
In his commentary, Srila Prabhupada reiterates the goal of Vedic culture: “Therefore, no matter how much progress material science can achieve, scientists will never be able to create a living being. Therefore, the sole purpose of Vedic culture is to remind man of his spiritual nature. ” (From the commentary on the verse).
3.4.8 Application in the sermon.
This verse and especially its commentary can be used in conversations with learned people. He very scientifically explains the origin of life in the universe.
3.4.9 Vaishnava integrity.
There should be no analogy between the method of fertilization used by the Lord and the sexual act of man. Almighty God is able to fertilize with eyes, therefore He is called omnipotent. Each organ of the Lord’s body can perform the functions of any other of His organs (Srila Prabhupada comm).
3.4.10 My perception of this verse is personal use.
It is an amazing fact that Srimad Bhagavatam contains very deep knowledge in many areas of science, including the origin of life.
