krsnaya vasudevaya devaki-nandanaya cha
nanda-gopa-kumaraya govindaya namo namah

krsnaya - to the Supreme Lord; Vasudevaia - the son of Vasudeva; devaki-nandanaya - the son of Devaki; cha - and; nanda-gopa - Nanda and the shepherds; kumaraya - their son; govindaya - to the Personality of Godhead, who brings joy to the cows and feelings; namah — respectful obeisances; namah - reverence.
Therefore, in deepest respect, I bow down before the Lord, who became the son of Vasudeva, the joy of Devaki, the son of Nanda and the other shepherds of Vrindavan, and brings joy to the cows and feelings.
3.2.1 Author of words.
This sloka is from the head of Queen Punti's Prayer.
Kunti devi, pronounced it before the departure of Lord Krishna from Hastinapura after the end of the Battle of Kuruksetra.
3.2.2 Features of poetic syntax.
In this verse, Kunti’s address (aunts after Vasudeva’s father) is applied to Lord Krishna as a series of His Names. It is important to abolish that the name Devaki in this verse applies to both Vasudeva’s wife and Nanda’s maharaja Yasodamayi’s wife, devaki-nandanaya..2.3 Poetic phonetics.
In this text, we can see the use of sound recordings - sound repetitions, creating a kind of sound "drawing". He is clearly heard in the ending of words on –aya (krishnaya, vasudevaya, nandanaya, kumaraya, govindaya).
3.2.4 Comment analysis.
Key points:
• Queen Kunti prefers this incarnation, or avatar, of Lord Krishna to all others, because when He assumes this appearance, it is easier to approach Him.
• He was very kind to Brother Kunti Vasudeva and his family. If He had not become the son of Vasudeva and Devaki, Queen Kunti could not call Him her nephew and turn to Him with parental love.
• Nothing can compare with His children's games in Vrajabhumi, as they completely repeat His eternal fun on the original planet of Krishnaloka.
• Lord Krishna as Govinda is particularly positioned for brahmans and cows, showing that the prosperity of humanity depends to a large extent on these two things: the brahminical culture and the protection of cows.
3.2.5 Srila Prabhupada's mood.
Srila Prabhupada emphasizes the name of Govinda, emphasizing the importance of protecting cows and brahmans as the basis for the prosperity of human society.3.2.6 Application to preaching.
By repeating this verse, a devotee can easily remember the Lord in His various manifestations. Remembering the Lord is one of the methods of devotional service. By declaring this verse a person can receive a great blessing. In SB 1.1.14 it says:
apannah samsritim ghorom yan-nama vivaso greenan
tatah sadyo vimucheta yad bibheti svayam bhayam
Living beings, entangled in the intricacies of birth and death, can immediately be released, even if they unknowingly pronounce the holy name of Krishna, who fears fear itself.
Srila Prabhupada writes in a commentary on this verse: the name of Krishna is not different from Krishna Himself. Therefore, the name of Krsna is as powerful as Lord Krsna Himself, and there is no difference between them. Therefore, even in the face of the greatest dangers, everyone can take advantage of the holy names of Lord Sri Krishna. The transcendental name of Krishna, pronounced even unconsciously or under pressure of circumstances, can help a person get out of the networks of birth and death.
3.2.7 Vaishnava integrity.
It is not necessary to think that the repetition of verse SB 1.8.21 can replace the repetition of the maha-mantra, but it can and should be remembered to acquire a more conscious state when chanting the Holy Name in a certain mood of Vrndavana.
3.2.8 My perception of this verse is personal use.
