This sloka is from the introduction to the SB and is uttered by the original author Srila Vyasadeva.
3.1.2 Features of poetic syntax.
This verse applies an appeal that heightens the attention of the reader, and makes him a significant figure in the eyes of the narrator, as well as a call to action. To speak and to be heard is an important moment of communication and, probably, the most important in communication between the guru and the student. A sensible person, even if he is already advanced in spiritual science, understands that his knowledge is still not enough and with deep faith again and again is ready to listen to Vedic wisdom.
 Quoted verse 1.2.18
nasta-prayesh abhadresu nityam bhagavata-sevaya
bhagavaty uttama-shloke bhaktir bhavati naishthiki
By regularly attending the lectures on the Bhagavatas and serving the pure devotee, everything that causes anxiety in the heart is almost completely destroyed, and then loving service to the Supreme Lord, sung in transcendental songs, becomes irreversible.
In the commentary, Prabhupada writes that communication with the Bhagavatam removes from the heart of the devotee everything that hinders the advancement of the path of self-realization. This means is communication with bhagavaty. He notes that “there are two types of bhagavat: the book Bhagavatam and the devotee bhagavata. Both bhagavatas are effective means, and both of them or each one of them is enough to remove all obstacles. The bhagavata devotee and the book Bhagavata are in fact the same thing because the devotee bhagavata builds his life from the book Bhagavata, full of information about the Personality of Godhead and His pure devotees, bhagavata. The book and the personality of bhagavata are identical with each other. ”3.1.3 Poetic phonetics:
In the verse is clearly visible - assonance - repetition with the emphasis of the same vowel. nigama kalpa taror halite phalam
3.1.4 Metaphors and comparisons.
The adornment of this verse is a vivid metaphor that describes very vividly the taste that we can feel while reading Srimad Bhagavatam.
This verse represents Srimad Bhagavatam as a tree with 12 branches and 18000 leaves. This kalpa-taroh is a tree of desires and it bears fruit - phalam. The fruit is filled with amrta nectar.
In the Brahma Samhita, text 56, is the writing of the spiritual planet Shetadvipa. Lord Bakhma offers prayers in her honor: I worship the transcendental abode, Svetadvipa, where Lakshmi, the loving spouses of the Supreme Lord Krishna, with all their pure spiritual being are engaged in loving service to their only beloved; where every tree is a transcendent desire tree; where the soil consists of the magic chintamani stone, and water is like nectar, where every word is a song, and every step is a dance, where the flute is a favorite companion, the radiance is filled with transcendental bliss, and the higher spiritual beings are attractive and pleasant; where the countless surabhi cows always give oceans of transcendental milk; where there is neither past nor future, but there is only eternal transcendental time, which always remains present and is not subject to disappearance even for half a moment. This abode, called Goloka, is known in this world to only a few self-realized souls.3.1.5 Comment analysis.
Key points:
• Srimad-Bhagavatam is not only the highest scripture, but also the mature fruit of all Vedic literature. In other words, it is the cream of Vedic knowledge, so it is important to listen to it patiently and humbly. The message of Srimad Bhagavatam and his instructions should be taken with great respect and attention.
• Systematic knowledge gradually raises the living being to a spiritual level, and the highest spiritual awareness is the realization that the Personality of Godhead is the source of all spiritual tastes, races.
• Spiritual exchange, race, between living beings and the Supreme Lord, in its fullness, is manifested in spiritual being.
• With Him in the relationship of his primordial race, the living being finds true happiness.
• In the material world, the race assumes a perverse, temporary form.
• This schloka specifically states that the spiritual race, which is enjoyed even in the liberated state, can be felt by listening to “Srimad-Bhagavatam,
• This ripe fruit has not, for no reason at all, fallen from the highest planet of Krishnaloka. On the contrary, he was carefully, carefully, and without damaging, lowered down the chain of disciplic succession.
It follows from the above that a person who is seriously studying the race should receive the message of “Bhagavatam” along the chain of disciplic succession from Srila Sukadeva Gosvami.3.1.6 Srila Prabhupada's mood.
Srila Prabhupada gives a very detailed word-by-word translation and commentary and reveals to us the method by which one can sense the race of relationship with the Lord here on Earth. This is very relevant for all people, even those who have already achieved liberation.
3.1.7 Application in the sermon.
By reading Srimad Bhagavatam, people with a pure heart, deprived of envy, gain the good of communion with Krsna and get rid of threefold miseries. They see Krsna, they feel the sweetness of the image, qualities, games of Krsna, they drink this sweetness.
In SB 3.13.50, Mayatreya Muni exclaims: Who, except those who are not human, can exist in this world without striving to attain the highest goal? Who will give up the nectar of narrations about the acts of the Personality of Godhead - nectar, which is able to save a person from all material suffering?
In the commentary, Srila Rabhupada also says: The narratives of the acts of the Personality of Godhead are like nectar, flowing in a continuous stream, and only those who are not worthy of being called human beings can refuse it.
Quoted verse
satam prasangan mother virya-samvido
bhavanti hrt-karna-rasayanah kathah
taj joshanad ashv apavarga vartmani
sraddha rater bhaktir anukramsyati
/ SB 3.25.25 /
“Discussing the games and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in a society of pure devotees pleases hearing and delights the heart. Devoting his time to this, a person quickly moves along the path leading to liberation, and when he gains liberation, his attachment to the Lord becomes even stronger. Thus true devotion is born and devotional service begins. ”
3.1.8 Vaishnava integrity.
It would not be right to tell people about some kind of mystical tree with miracle fruits, and in order not to mislead them, it is necessary to immediately stipulate that a beautiful poetic comparison is used in the verse, and real desire trees grow in the spiritual world.
Also, for an example of another comparison, the analogy of SB 1.3.43 can be quoted.
Krishna sva-dhamopagate dharma-jna nadibhih saha
Kalau nashta-drisham esha puranarko 'dhunoditah
“This“ Bhagavata-purana "shines like the sun. It ascended immediately after Lord Krishna * (and with him religion, knowledge, etc.) retired to His abode. This Purana brings light to people who have lost the ability to see in impenetrable darkness the ignorance of the age of Kali. "3.1.9 My perception of this verse.
This verse can be used as an introduction to a lecture, focusing on the importance of hearing and studying the Srimad Bhagavatam.
Conclusion: in the verse being analyzed, the Bhagavatam is compared to the desire tree. This means that by reading and listening to Srimad Bhagavatam, we can get the benefit comparable to eating nectar of communion with Krishna in Goloka, the highest planet of the spiritual world.
