Teacher pays attention to correcting the students' mistakes (mistakes can also be corrected on the spot by students as part of the interactive game). This game and the correction activity take about 5 to 8 minutes.
So we see: by now everyone is very active and pays attention and it's the best time to "T.E.A.C.H." - to introduce new content. I am choosing new vocabulary and we are learning new words with the pronunciation, meaning and use of the word and translation into the MT Mother Tongue. I am using these charts that include English words and MT translations and also I have the sheets with MT words only so the students can fill in the blanks at their own pace in class. This activity takes 10 to 12 minutes. Teacher! Remember: Good mood and good learning skills are contageous! Kids who see their classmate memorize a new word on the fly also want to be able to imitate that and to demonstarte that they are quick. Some students are slow (OR shy) and their concentration is not solid, so we repeat our content many times to their benefit and we shall also repeat it in the course of the warm up and the review at our next lesson. AND Now we shall play some games to finish the class with fun events! e.g. a very popular game of GROWING STORY CHAINS! In this game, students collectively create a story : the first student starts with the first sentence, the second student repeats the sentence and makes up his own sentence, the third student will repeat the two sentences and add another and so on. We play this game until the end of class for the remaining 8 or 10 minutes. Students are not tired at this time because they changed activities and they had their English given to them in a game setting with interesting challenges and with an opportunity for themselves to learn interactively and naturally, to play games and to challenge another student for better learning. thank you for your kind attention.
