Ровно сто лет назад появились Виндзоры,а немцы растворились на Малом острове,
в этот день в 1944-м по Москве маршем позора прошлись гитлеровцы.В штатах этот день объявлен днём "Порабощенных народов",куда отнесены и жители Украины,и так же именно в этот день несколько лет назад сбит был "Боинг" над Донбассом.
-А вот сегодня в РСМ короновали нового Президента,-вернул всех в доме к реальности автор.

On Tuesday 18 July 2017, a Ceremony will take place to induct the following individuals as Honorary Fellows of the Royal Society of Medicine:
Baroness Greengross
Professor David Howard
Professor Sir Michael Rawlins
Professor Tilli Tansey
In addition, Professor John Betteridge will be awarded the RSM Medal.
The Ceremony will also include inauguration of Professor Sir Simon Wessely as the new President of the RSM, and the presentation of the RSM Gold Medal to Professor Sir Michael Marmot.
The Ceremony will be followed by a drinks reception. Guests are also invited to attend a black tie dinner at a cost of ;50 per person.

The death has been announced of Lord Soulsby of Swaffham Prior, former RSM President. A parasitologist and former Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge, Lord Soulsby was an Honorary Fellow of the RSM and the only individual to have served as President of both the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (1984-85) and the Royal Society of Medicine (1998-2000).
In 2016 a foundation was established to honour the work of Lord Soulsby, who inspired colleagues and students to view animal and human medicine as one continuous health-related tapestry.
The Soulsby Foundation will provide travelling research fellowships to graduates of human or veterinary medicine undertaking a project designed to promote and advance the principles of "One World-One Health".

At a meeting organised by the RSM Psychiatry Section on Tuesday 9 May, the issue of power, gender and hubris was explored by a distinguished panel of speakers. This was an excellent event, that was part of a series of days during which the issue of hubris and leadership has been debated over the past couple of years, as well as being superbly timed in the context of the forthcoming UK General Election.
-Он изумлён "неожиданными выборами" в Парламент,а так же вовсю хвалит прошедший митинг 9 Мая,не называя лорда Оуэна напрямую.
-Возможно потому,что тот "вернулся"?
-А разве он исчезал?

A few days earlier I had attended the inaugural Regius Professorial lecture given by my successor as RSM President, Sir Simon Wessely, at King’s College London. Some of Simon’s observations were reinforced by comments at the gender and hubris meeting. They reminded the audience of the constant need for caring, unselfish and compassionate behaviour on the part of all healthcare professionals.

-Медики должны быть" неэгоистичными,заботливыми,сострадательными"?-уточнил Мышонок.-Этими качествами обладает профессор Весёлый?

-Зато далее Уходящий в Небытие почти оправдывается,и полемизирует с кем-то,явно причём утверждает,что все в РСМ только и делают,что заботятся о гостях.
-Не как раньше,когда в результате "кризиса 2011 года" многие хлопнули дверью?!

In my Albert Wander lecture in 2014 I focused on this particular challenge – a challenge which remains as important today at a time when so many of our colleagues, especially our trainees, feel unsupported in their professional lives. I am glad to note that the RSM is indeed a caring environment. Our staff are hugely appreciated and our members and visitors can be sure of a warm welcome whether attending academic meetings or simply relaxing after a hard day.

-"Our staff are hugely appreciated" -как перевести?-спросил Мышонок,морща лоб.
-Мы ценим высоко нашу команду?Заботимся о людях?-попытался понять автор.
-Не стоит ломать голову!-осадила их Авторесса.-Просто болтает,как всегда -и всё!Ни о ком они не заботятся.
-Но вот и неправда!-вступился за РСМовцев Мышонок.-Статью о директорах они тоже переписали в том же духе.

The Society’s conferencing and hospitality activities are managed by RSM Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal Society of Medicine. The revenue generated by RSM Support Services makes an important contribution to the Society’s income and the services provided to members.
RSM Support Services works to:
maintain and improve the Society’s buildings and facilities at Chandos House and Wimpole Street
provide academic and club services for RSM members
manage external meetings and conferences
The company has its own Board of Directors who review financial performance and consider new initiatives to increase returns from the Society’s asset base.
