Broken Heart

It happened back in the time when the New World hadn't been known yet. There lived a tribe of people. It was kind of a primitive society. Those people were kind and had never hurt anyone.
At that time Columbus's ships approached the new shores. The subsequent events are described in detail in history. Let's move on to the moment when Europeans colonized for more than half of the territory. However, the land of the tribe, which was mentioned at the beginning, wasn't reached yet.
But the tribe itself, hearing the sounds of explosions and shots, went toward the settlements. Europeans began to laugh at the primitive people, but when the tribe leader shot an arrow into the visitors, they got angry. Between the two sides a battle ensued, but soon it was over. The trick the tribe leader had done sadly reflected on his people: the Europeans had shot the whole tribe.
There survived only two persons of the tribe: a guy and a young girl. They stayed in a cave to guard the fire. The tribe didn't seem to be going back for long. They began to worry. And the settlers, meanwhile, went to clean the forest in the direction where the tribe had come from. Soon they came across with the two left of the tribe. Those ones were unarmed, so the Europeans didn't kill them. They were tied up and taken to the richest man. He liked the primitive girl, and he invited her to live in a luxury home as his wife. She refused saying that she loves only the guy who was with her. The rich man became furiously angry. He ordered his servants to kill the guy and to bring his heart to the girl's room.
The guy was killed. But the girl still didn't agree to become the European's wife. One evening he passed by her room and heard some words. She was speaking with the heart. The rich man burst into the room and grabbed the box with the heart off the girl's hands. Then he dragged her into the courtyard, ordered to harness the carriage and drive to the ocean.
The banks were full of sharp stones. The rich man furiously threw the heart to these stones. It was broken, and its small pieces scattered on the shore.
When the girl saw it, she jumped into the ocean and turned into foam. Water in the ocean raged and cleaned away from the shore pieces of the broken heart. In the places where they lay, there appeared roses. They bloomed for all night, but with the advent of the sun they turned into plain dry bushes. At night the ocean watered them again, and roses bloomed. And since then every night those red roses are blooming reminding of the broken heart.
