Ah! Sun-Flower
Ah! Sun-flower! Weary of time,
Who counts the steps of the sun;
Seeking after that sweet golden clime,
Where the traveler’s journey is done;
Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my sun-flower wishes to go.
Подсолнух, не надо сердиться на время,
Считая дневные светила шаги,
Стремясь в золотые, прекрасные земли
Где странник оставит свой путь позади...
Там юноша чахший в запрете желаний
И дева бледневшая за снежным ковром
Из небытия за счастьем восстали...
В те земли и мы вслед за солнцем идем.
