Vacation Revelations

Dream vacations, like dreams, can never be shared, for what’s a dream for one is a nightmare for another.

Camping is not a vacation, but an exile. Instead of having it easy in your stylish cubicle you are condemned
to doing chores in substandard conditions.

Family vacation is an oxymoron. Whenever family is involved, it’s nothing but hard work, especially when
crammed together in small spaces for longer than usual.

If your husband wants to sign up for a survival course, this means his life is beach. Let him have your share
of responsibilities for about a year and he won’t have any wind left to argue against a beach vacation.

“It’s not the destination, but the journey that counts.” This saying is relevant more than ever. Today's journeys
are certainly far more relaxing. Kids get strapped to their seats and subdued by iPads, and husbands have
navigation systems to curse if they get lost.

Here's one more from Lord & Taylor ad in Vogue:

"It's neither the destination, nor the journey that counts, but what you wear on the way."

True. A wadrobe mulfunction can certainly add to one's set of vacation woes.
