Biorhythms of Freedom

Òàòüÿíà-Âàëåíòèíà Ìàìîíîâà
Animals rarely produce offspring in zoos. And even when they do, in most cases, they abandon their young. It can be applied in humans also. Even in a golden cage we don’t feel happy.

A 20 year old from Australian TV visited northern Russia. She asked me: “Why are Russian girls dressed like concubines?”

Teen pregnancies jumped 25% in Russia in the 21-st century. It is not surprising that 15 year old parents aren’t able to raise their kids.

Also, if feels like only females are involved in sex here. Although the hints of male prostitution exist. Promiscuity is common.

Two friends are walking on the street. Suddenly, one exclaims: “Oh, God, my wife is there with my girlfriend!” The second one, no less surprised, retorts, “Mine, too!”

Due to the feminist movement, America is more sophisticated with gender issues. Russian society clearly needs some enlightenment.

In an October 2008 program on a Hitler, a Russian TV commentator said: “Women can love anybody, including serial killers.” But documents show that men loved Hitler even more.

On the other channel – about egotism: “Greed and cunning are typical female traits…” Since when?  Maybe the crisis of the global market is also women’s fault?

Young Russians, at least, joke about themselves: “Girls standing, shy and scared, because for 10 girls there are 2 alcoholics, 2 gays, 2 divorced, 2 drug addicts and 1 straight, but married.” (Fife Magazine, ¹ 10, 2008).

Getting married is not always attractive to women. The Russian actress Alina Smekhova commented: “Men want too much. You have to be a perfect housewife and a star, at once.” (Free Time, ¹ 10, 2008). Russian women value their freedom no lees than American. They just do it their own way. Their dignity is in the right to choose.

We hear the biorhythms of freedom in the songs of Zemfira, Fabrika, Ta Tu, Via Gra – their last “Emancipation” clearly does it.

Women’s solidarity can be called futurism, acmeism, dadaism. However, the sense of it is the movement of resistance to cynicism.

There was an announcement recently on Russian radio: a man, allegedly needs a few women in his life to keep him happy. It was interpreted as polygamy. The only thing which wasn’t announced, that British scientists, who discovered it, recommend to men to have a good connection with their mothers, sisters and female co-workers.

By the way, the idea of polygamy has been distributed in Russia even by people like I. Hakamada. Although, she added, that she herself is a “half-man”. Patricia Kaas is closer to the truth. This French singer, before touring Russia, said: “I’ll be a woman who has her men in every country of the world.” And this means polyandry.

Russian humor reflects the real situation:

– Why are you so sad?
– I saw a cool girl in the subway, so I winked.
– And?
– She offered me her seat, damn it.

Gender stereotypes have been transformed fast in our human society. British scientist Karim Naernia was able to get sperm from female marrow.

Now, thanks to the Internet, we have access to information which was unattainable before, about: our history; other nations: psychology; and animal behavior. It came out that a cat is freer than a tiger or a lion. Even in ancient Egypt she believed having nine lives.

Cats can look in the eye of a person. On the other hand, lions or tigers feel panic if they do that.

The black cat, in English tradition, brings happiness, because the druids chose it as a sign of fertility.

All superpowers take an eagle as its symbol. However, little eagles kill each other in competition for food. Thomas Jefferson, one of the American founders taught that the eagle is a coward and dishonest hunter. Jefferson preferred the turkey, which saved the first pioneers.

It was proved that the lion is not better than the eagle – it is lazy and dull. Lion cubs are afraid of everything, even moving grass from an insect.

But returning to Jefferson, despite his weaknesses, even though he took one of his slaves as a lover, he wasn’t removed from American history.

American also left in their history George Washington, even though he married a wealthy widow and spent a large part of his time in the garden planting flowers. A Washington Street can be found in practically every city of America. In Russia, we observe how Lenin, Mukhina, Gorky are disappearing without trace. Remember, we are all humans.

Mark Twain once wrote that heaven accepts you not for your virtues, yet thanks to bureaucracy. Otherwise you would be left outside, but your dog would be accepted.

There is a monument to a dog in New York’s Central Park. This dog brought a vaccine through a dark polar storm. It saved Alaska from an epidemic.

Neither cats nor dog smoke or get drunk. Yet, they are not permitted in restaurants. People, though, can do anything to poison themselves and others. Fedor Uglov, a surgeon, who lived over 100 years, taught that consumption of alcohol shortens your life 20-25 years. So does smoking. A highly radioactive element was found in tobacco: polony-210 accordig to research by Stanford University.

If we want to hear in us the biorhythms of freedom, we have to cleanse ourselves – not the wrong way around.

We contain everything in our bodies for happiness and freedom. Endorphins – hormones of joy. Ferments, which make our food delightful.

Our approach to life creates our destiny. If you’re interested in the environment and are good to people, it’s the first factor of your inner freedom.

The second factor is your dedication to study the nature of things and your readness to overcome obstacles.

The third factor – don’t count on others if you want to change your life. Others can help but you must be the master.

“Don’t be afraid your life will end. Be afraid that it will never begin.” Wise words of Grace Hansen.

Take Madonna for instance. She made a few mistakes. It hasn’t stopped her from trying herself everywhere and succeeding. At 50, Madonna exudes the level of energy which is not even common amongst many 20 years olds. She finds the biorhythms of freedom in music.

Music is an ancient mother of medicine. This is why even plants and cows respond to it. Music is healing. If I lose my balance being attacked by urban stress, I cure myself with music and dance. It relaxes my muscles and brings oxygen to my lungs. It gives me back my inner freedom.

“First you jump off the cliff and you build your wings on the way down.” I follow these words of ray Bradbury.

Menopause and andropause were considered as an end. Now, they are considered to be beginning of freedom.

Even a divorce is not that painful for couples who shared passion, raised kids and then became independent partners and friends.

Analysis shows that the third age is called “golden” for a reason. The alpha-rhythm in this age leads people, especially women, to creativity. Many women discover finally their dormant talents. Some of them start to paint, some dance, some write. Elena Volchkova began to paint at 65 and had a Trietiakovka show. Lorna Page, a Brit, wrote her first best seller at 93. (Peterburgskaya Nedelya 24 October 2008).

Aikido is widely popular amongst the third age. It’s the Japanese martial art which develops your alpha-rhythm by using the strength of the opposite force.

Olin Reily, an Australian, created a blog on the Internet when she was 100 years old and got a lot of friends. Some take a dog or a cat for relaxation and exercise.

A 4 year old female chimpanzee is as strong as a grown man. They are also taken as companions by people with motor disabilities.

“We’re not cave men” is a title of a series published in the summer of 2008 in the U.S., which discussed why the media shows men worse than they are. In this study, 90% of men recognize their own emotions. 80% feel fine if their women have higher positions. 60% of men love to cook and be good fathers. (Daily News, Summer 2998). Most of contemporary American men take part in birth deliveries of their wives. It’s no joke anymore.

The scary statics of teen pregnancies pushed finally Russian authorities to develop contraceptives which are affordable and safe. In Europe, 89% of people use contraceptives. In Russia, alas, it is only 40% – thanks to the negative propaganda of the Orthodox church.

George Carlin, an American comedian, said that he was taught to pray to God, yet he decided to pray to the sun, because he can, at least, see the sun. Our Slavic ancestors also were praying to the sun. Jumping over fires, they felt freer and happier.

One student told me that my seminars should be more academic. Citing Jean Cocteau: “Academics have a tendency to become a chair after death.” I hope to become a blossoming tree
with my genome. What can be freer than a blossoming tree?!
